Not necessarily, shower-specific, but a great little book on the subject of water, as well as different types of water treatment systems is Water: The Ultimate Cure by Steve Meyerowitz. The book also has a great Introduction by noted Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, who also has several great books on the subject.
YES..... let's see if I can find the link.... We FINALLY (after two years of goofing aroud, bought their water filter system and LOVE IT)......... "Berkey "......
www. berkeywater .com (my links didn't show up??) so type them in I guess.
Oh, specifically in their shopping mall .. did a search for Shower Filter...
www. berkeywater-cart .com/ SearchResults. asp?Search= shower+ filter (Leave out spaces)
I LOVE this company.. the water tastes so pure... When we first got our Berkey, I took a sip, then back to my regular refridgerator/filtered water and wanted to spit it out!!
Let me know how you like the shower head.... I keep meaning to get one... Guess I'll have to send dear hubby the link to 'research'. (He's now my research before we buy guy!:):)
Just if you're interested.... this is one of the advertisers on Alex Jones' website www.infowars .com
I was wondering if anyone new anything about the CuZn Turbo Shower filter from Needs.com? I have it and need a new filter. I am wondering if I should purchase another filter or go with an entirely different brand.
Hi does anyone have dry skin still. Maybe I need a better shower filter. I have been using JoJoBa Oil to moisturize. I got it at Trader Joe and it is Organic.
Treesha......... I believe some filters are 'in line' (my term) meaning... the actual filter attaches ABOVE the shower head, so if you got one like that.. your water coming through whatever you attached to the end of the pipe/filter would be filtered. (Sorry, but I know I've seen them.... SOMEWHERE? :):) Maybe we can get some 'handy man' feedback.
Shelley & June, I would rate both the CuZn Turbo Shower filter and the shower filter offered at QNLabs as just “OK”.
They’re not BAD, they’re just not GREAT. They’re both comparable (if not identical) to the New Wave Enviro and Rainshow’r Cq1000 models.
They both rely solely on the same KDF media to filter the water. Now, they’re both better than using nothing at all, so don’t misunderstand me. I’ve no doubt that it improved June’s hair and skin (although I’m doubtful that the same unit could be sold for $200, even by a Government…I mean…unscrupulous vendor).
I stand by my recommendation of the Aquasana brand, since I’ve still yet to see anything that indicates that the Wellness shower filter is superior (Apart from it’s shiny chrome housing which I’ll admit, looks pretty sharp).
In my opinion, Aquasana offers a much superior product, for only a minimal increase in cost.
How often is the filter changed in the Aquasana brand? How does this compare to the Wellness Filter? (if you know). A shower filter is extremely intriguing because I am in an area with hard water where alot of homes install water softeners, and I am looking for an alternative. But price is definitely a problem, especially if I will have to change a pricey filter every month.
