I am looking for a shower filter but don't really want to spend the money on a high-dollar one. Does anybody have any recommendations?

How often is the filter changed in the Aquasana brand? How does this compare to the Wellness Filter? (if you know). A shower filter is extremely intriguing because I am in an area with hard water where alot of homes install water softeners, and I am looking for an alternative. But price is definitely a problem, especially if I will have to change a pricey filter every month.

We will be devoting an upcoming newsletter to water and air filters.
I will let everyone know when the issue will be sent out.

Hi Sarah, I just bought an aqua sana 4100 shower filter and love it. It cost 67.99 and I pay $7 a mo. and get a lifetime warrantee and new filters every six months for life. My big concern was losing water pressure. I had better water pressure with the new system than before. And we had just replaced our shower head a month before we got this one. I did research before I bought and found that for your money, this is the best deal. There may be cheaper ones out there but this one was top rated and reasonable. Good luck and GOD bless.

Hey thanks for the comment. You only pay 7$ a month for a lifetime warranty and you don't have to pay for filters?

Well, I've decided I am going to order one from that aquasana.com. From what I hear it is a great product and a decent price. If you go to the first page on this discussion there is a link to get you a discount.

Mike, what you're looking for is a dechlorinating "bath ball".

There are several different brands available for $30 - $50.

Rainshow'r makes one for $36 or for only $30 HERE.

You simply swish the bath ball through your bath water for a few minutes after you've filled your tub, and VOILA! Instan de-chlorinization (well, up to about 85 - 90% anyway).

Or, GAIAM has a model that attaches right to the faucet for $49. A little bit more pricey, but seems like it might be more convenient.

Lastly, if you wanted to go all out, you could install a Whole-House water filtration unit. This option will run you anywhere from $600 - $1000 plus installation costs, unless you're handy at plumbing. This will filter ALL the water for your bathtubs, showers, tap faucets, toilets, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, etc.

So, I went to the AQUASANA website, but i couldn't find any sections where they explain how they filter te water and what exactly they filter the water of. Do you know if they remove fluoride and chlorine?

Sith, thanks for the tip. I actually watched the video that was presented the other day and was sold on the Aquasana. After reading this form today, I decided to go ahead and purchase it. I really like the autoship feature the company has for the filters. They will automatically send you a filter in 6 months so you don't have to remember. I am going to tell you, I would be the first to forget! Also, if you sign up for the autoship, you receive a discount on the filter... pretty cool. Thanks everyone!
