I just ordered one from Aquasana. It has been suggested to me by many and from what I understand one of the biggest benefits is the water pressure is great. Some say there are many brands that reduce the water pressure. Also, Aquasana is affordable for me. If you click the link here, it will offer you a discount and I think I got it for $68.00. You do have to change the filter every 6 months and that runs about $30. I have signed up for autoship on the filters which gives you a price break and they ship it automatically so you don't have to remember to do it. I needed that perk! I hope that helps.

Hi Lisa,
Thank you very much for your reply, I'm very happy to here about the water pressure being great, it has been a big concern for me and one of the reasons I haven't switched yet, I am going to order one today.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, living without water pressure would not be ideal for me. I enjoy my showers... well at least I used to till I figured out how bad the water is for me. I have heard once you get this filter, the water feels so much softer and I am sooooooooo looking forward to it. Have a great day!

I got my Aquasana shower filter yesterday. It was packaged correctly and had easy to follow instructions. It was simple to install. Word of advice: when you first hook the shower filter on and you run the water to clear the first residue from the filter out, make sure it hits a bucket. It will stain your shower. There is a warning on the instructions about that. Once the water is clear, this takes no time, you are ready to go. I could tell a difference. I loved the way it felt. Downside: The water pressure is not that great. I have heard Aquasana has the best pressure of them all. I would hate to see what the others are like.

The Aquasana filter does not have enough contact time with the filter media to remove everything, and yes you will lose pressure.

i got one from dial a date (i did not make that name up!)
this one is $25 and is actually just the filter. it is installed between the shower head pipe and the shower head...no tools needed. it has to be replaced every year....but for $25....i can do that.
