I know aluminum is not safe. Today I heard stainless steel isn't safe either.. so what's left? Glass.. Is glass safe to cook in? Both metals release toxins into the food. Will glass?

I went to the saladmaster website but didn't see any prices.....how expense are they??

The smallest pan they have is $250. They have different package deals. The smallest package is probably $1800 and the big complete Chef package is $8000. But it has a lifetime guarantee. And the food really does taste different - It tastes better!
There are knockoffs out there, but I don't know if they are as good. But they are a lot cheaper if that is a concern for you.

Also, I forgot about this website that I saw some interesting cookware on. It prevents oxidation to the food. Interesting...

Yes, when you eat raw foods, you don't have to worry about your cookware!

But for those who would still like to eat SOME cooked foods, it's important to know what the safest cookware is out there.

And yes, it's surgical stainless steel - because they use it for surgical instruments and they used to use it for replacing things in the body - like a knee or hip or something. (But I think they use titanium now.) If it's safe enough to be used as a replacement body part (it's not breaking down inside your body) then I think it would not break down into your food.

Oh wow! I did not know that!

Hey Marilyn -
I never knew one could follow a raw diet exclusively. How long have you been eating raw only?

Hey Marilyn!
80/20 is what I've heard is a healthy mix. I think I'd lose my will to live if I couldn't have my sweet potatoes and squashes! I've got a long way to go, but I am informed enough to know that if I can choose between raw and cooked I will take the raw. I guess it's been a while since you've had brown rice huh?

Hmm... well, I'm glad my pans are made from surgical stainless steel then, and not titanium!

This is so confusing. I read in KT's book that as long as the pot is not covered with PTFE it is safe... he recommends Copper, anodized aluminum, enamel cast iron, stainless steel , carbon steel and glass.

I need new pots and pans.. what do I do????

Hey Yadira,

I really love my surgical stainless steel waterless cookware, and I think it's the best choice out there!

But if you can't afford it (it is expensive), I would suggest the Le Creuset or something similar.

Definitely avoid the PTFE as it is the worst!

None of us can be 100% perfect at doing everything 100% healthy. And even if we could, we will still die anyway! So just do the best you can! And remember that there are other things besides food that influence our health... =)

Dot, I agree with you and thank you for your comment. I went his weekend and bout two cast iron pots, one skillet and one casserole at a very good price.. And yes, there are other things that influence our health. Thanks a lot!

hi,jess.i have been cooking in cast iron skillets and stainless steel pots for over 40 years so i guess if i had to choose this would be it. hope it helps you. i tried glass pots but they stain very easy and are hard to keep clean for my old fashioned cooking.my sisters use the expensive waterless cookware so you can imagine the adjustments i have to make when i cook in their kitchens.
