So I have fluid behind my ear drum, and I'm on my 2nd round of different antibiotics. It still hurts, and doesn't seem to be getting better. Any suggestions?
I just learned that I have fluid in my inner ear....doc gave me a low dose of a diuretic (sp), can't take a full dose due to low blood pressure. He also told me to get 3000 mg of sodium....not sure if I go over that or under that each day....with reading labels recently, seems like some days I get too much and other days not enough. He did tell me that if this didn't clear it up that there is a procedure to remove the fluid. I asked how much fluid did I have in my inner ear and he showed me 4 numbers and said that they shouldn't be above 50, my numbers were.....100, 100, 100 and 75. So mine must be pretty full.
He said that by reducing the fluid in the inner ear that it might help to get the noise down that I have in my left ear....sounds like a seashell stuck to my ear. He also told me that I have 40% hearing loss in both ears.....seems I have inherited this from my dad.....I am only 39!!
SO, now I got to go shopping for hearing aides....which I have learned run between $1500-$3000 just for ONE....and I need two and insurance doesn't cover hearing aides.
With your case, HOW do they know that it is an infection or fluid?? Looks like to me if the antibotics aren't clearing it up, then it wouldn't be an infection and would be fluid instead, that antibotics won't do anything for.
Have you tried ear candles??
Do you have any face pains....like stabbing pains in front of your ears?? I have these and some headaches, yet nobody has given my ears as a reason for this.
