My sister was told to take SOY supplements for menopause. Does anybody have any experience with these? Are they safe? I thought soy was found to be harmful (maybe not in this form)?

Hi Kathi,
Protein is as essential building block for health, critcal for muscle retention, tissue repair, healthy blood formation, immunity, and virtually every other function in the body. Some soy proteins are alcohol processed, wich not only remove the beneficial isoflavones, but also creates cross contamination with the chamicals used to process. You need to look for Soy-Protein-wather washed.Excelent for menopause.
Soy is highly estrogenic and can adversly effect the thyroid.
Most people have way to much estrogen because of the plastics, too much fat, fluoride, etc. For menopausal problems I would first try natural progesteron, if that does work then use something like black cohosh.
A better source of protein can be found in spiralina, hemp. Whey protein is also good, if you don't mind milk products.
