I haven't begun the hcg proticol yet, but i keep reading how some people are gaining weight after all phases have been completed. Is what Kevin stated in his book untrue? Can you really not eat ANYTHING you want after losing the weight without gaining alot of it back? it makes me scared that i'm relying on this to be the one thing that will finally help me, and that it may all come right back again. will this still be a lifelong struggle???
Hi Summer, I have used the HCG and went through all 4 phases. I was able to lose 30 pounds and only went in to lose 10. I did it for the 45 days and I finished phase 4 in November. I have gained 10 pounds back and have been struggling since I lost the weight. After phase 4 I too thought just as KT stated you could eat anything you wanted but that has not been the case for me. I can't speak for others who have done the protocol but I have definitely been struggling. I am going to repeat phase 2 as soon as my order for HCG arrives and this time I know that I cannot eat anything I want. I will have be very restricted. The protocol did help me to lose weight I would not have otherwise lost without but I have been struggling daily to keep it off and maintain.
Wendi, I ate no fast foods. I ate and still eat only organic foods. I have not eaten out in over a year now. I have been very strict with this plan and have not let anyone stray me in another direction. I just learned what I can and cannot eat. When I do the protocol for the second round I will cut out all sweets and starches because that is probably why the weight came back. I did not start eating them right away because KT said to gradually bring them back into your eating plan and I did but the weight still came back. It has just been a struggle for me.
I wanted to ask- I am new to this webstre and have curiosity on the weight loss program. I would like to learn more-- where could I gather more info on this?
Thanks!
I assume that after the protocol you can eat anything you wanted does not apply to woman. I come to think that man and woman burn food different in their body.
Hi Lynnette, I did follow the protocol to the letter not cheating once. And I still eat only organic food. It is expensive but I sacrifice. I believe mine was due to the starches and sweets. Even though it is organic I think eating too much of it is what made the weight come back. I have gained ten pounds back. I am going to do phase 2 one more time this time I will be more aware of the carbohydrates and sweets. I do eat smaller portions just like he said to do but my problem is I can't eat anything I want to like KT said in the book. I learned and now I know what to do next time.
OK so I am looking for something to lose about 35lbs before winter. I cant see the point of doing needles if I am just going to gain it back... Lets be real though KT is a sellsman and sometimes people just say stupid things like you can eat anything that you want. Lets all be real here... there is noway that a statement like that is true. It is just not that simple... you have to exercise and eat properly. HCG is getting a lot of attention but it seems unatural and a bit scary; please let me know how the shots work. I am interested just very turned off from what I have read and continue to read... makes me think that there might not be a silver bullet just the fact that I need to eat correct and exercise...
Thanks and any help would be appriciated. By the way please dont post advertisements just answers...

My daughter, husband, and I are within 6 days of finishing phase two. We will start phase 3 Saturday morning. From everything I have read, it is not the carbs that you have to worry about, but the starches and sugars. Also, you should check the glycemic index of a food product rather than just the carb count. We also have not cheated on the phase 2. My daughter has lost 23 lbs. and 16 total inches. My husband has lost 23 lbs. (he didn't measure), and I am post menopausal (I had a hysterectomy 6 years ago), and I have lost 16 lbs. and I didn't measure the first week, but in the following two weeks, I have lost a total of 8", and have dropped a clothing size. We are not using all organic....and I use tap water!!!! I will let you know how things progress for us in the next phases...
You can eat what you want. the key is to make sure that you are not going back to unhealthy ways. The large portion sizes are what is messing everyone up. I would hope that people after reading the books and doing the therapy that they would not go back to eating like a cow. You have to remember that you control what you gain. You have to do the protocol correctly in order for this to work the way that it was meant to work. I have seen patients that have done this back decades ago and they still have not gained the weight back.
I agree with this: Prior to doing this diet I didn't even consume 2,000 calories/day...I averaged much less, and danced 10-12 hours/week...and for some reason I couldn't get my weight to budge. None of the old rules applied. I even did my allergy elimination diet for 2 weeks (NO wheat, gluten, soy, corn, dairy, eggs, sugar, caffeine, beef, pork, etc.) and didn't lose an ounce. Not an ounce.
If that doesn't say something else was going on in my body, I don't know what does.
I have to assume from what you've written that you think people are overweight because they eat too much. If this is true, you missed the whole point. KT's books were all about the cause of obesity being toxins, bad foods, drugs, and most importantly, an out of wack hypothalamus. I am one of those people. I did the "diet & exercise" and lost 45 lbs. It was a hormone treatment/injection and illness that caused me to gain the weight back on a very good diet of about 75% organic and raw foods and nearly gluten free. I wasn't stuffing my face, I wasn't gorging or overeating. I kept a diary of my intake and still, I gained. That is why this diet is different. It addresses ALL THE OTHER REASONS for being overweight and gets to the bottom of a cure. If it was just about portion control, we would all be doing Weight Watchers instead of giving ourselves injections and starving on a 500 calorie diet for 6 weeks. This diet is not for the faint of heart.
I imagine that the reason why some people can get away with "cheating" and others cannot...and why some people gain weight back very easily while, while others do not gain at all is due in part to how intricately diverse we are from each other....in our chemical make up, our sex, race and age, etc. Not to mention the different health issues and conditions of health. The dietary guidelines are strict as a baseline.
Remember too that one's level of toxicity has a lot to do with long term condition. Pam, have you done any of the cleanses? It may not be enough to just eat organic foods. I was looking up the specs on a banana: do you know a medium banana has 14.4 grams of sugar? The general accepted recommendation is around 40 grams, per adult, per day! It also has over 100 calories and 27 carbs. And its a banana!!! I am only on P2 now, but I think I'll be more like Lynnette with watching CONSUMPTION of sugar and carbs, in addition to whether or not they are organic and from a natural source.
Hope that helps! I also hope I'm not suffering for no good reason! I don't know why its so easy for everyone else -- I've had a difficult time, its NOT the easiest diet I've ever done and on day 10, I'm still hungry!
I have to agree with Lynnette and Jessica. I was not eating large portions of food I do believe as I stated earlier it was due to what I was eating (carbs and sugar). I know now what makes the weight gain and when I do it again I will be a lot more careful. The only fruit I ate and still eat is a apple or grapefruit sometimes. I do not eat any other fruits because I am not a big fruit eater. Jessica I did do the cleanses, I did the colonics and the threelac and they all worked really great. I do believe it is because we are different and that is why some people keep all the weight off and some gain some back. I still think this is a great protocol and a great way for people like me who have struggled for years with weight loss. It just that eating only organic and anything you want as KT stated does not work for me.
