I was told I have bad breath but I can't really smell my breath and everytime I am told it is bad it doesn't smell all that bad to me. Anyways, what are some natural things I can use to help have fresher breath more often. I already know I should do some cleansing. I will get to that. But as for right now what are some good things to use to keep my breath fresh so it wont smell bad???

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Thanks for the great suggestions. I am planning on having all the metal fillings removed from my mouth as soon as I can. Do you think they could be contributing to my bad breath as well??

Thanks for the tip. I was probably gonna end up doing a bunch of cleanses first anyways before I go to the dentist and get those removed. I am afraid I might have parasites living in me so I will be getting ready to do a complete body cleanse very soon.

I found the most effective way is to do a colon cleanse (more permenant solution). I use psyllium and calcium bentonite clay.

A liver cleanse would also help. To do a quick liver cleanse buy 7 organic lemons and drink the juice of one lemon per day on an empty stomach one hour before or two hours after eating. Do this for 7 days.

Temporary solutions:
-buy mouthwash add clove, thyme, oregano, cinnamon, lemon oil and stevia liquid shake and use.
-activated charcoal pills can also help.

Thanks for these suggestions. I definitely want to do the colon cleanse first. How do you use the psyllium and calcium bentonite clay??? And do I get that at the health food store also?? And how much do I use??? How long do you do that for???

Well, Jen, first you should note that you can't really smell your own breath or body odor unless it changes quickly or drastically. This is because of the way your olfactory (smelling) organs work and the way we perceive smell. I don't know the technical reason behind it, but when you first walk outside, especially after a rain storm, the air might smell fresh (or else stinky from the muddy ground and worms). Or when you first walk into a house or a restaurant, you might notice an odor or a pleasant smell, but you usually only notice it for a brief time unless an odor is very offensive or very fragrant. This is because you get used to the smell and your brain either stops processing the smell or your olfactory organs stop transmitting the signal to your brain. I imagine that this is to enable your body to "listen" for other smells that might be more important and so that you are not distracted by a smell for too long as smells can be very distracting and sometimes debilitating. And since you are always within smelling distance of your breath, you only notice it when it changes or worsens. More pervasive and intense smells stay with us longer, but they also fade and in time we stop noticing them. This is the reason why some of those air fresheners alternate between two or more scents every few minutes or half-hour so that you notice them and are reminded that the air freshener is still working. It also seems to be the case that unless someone else's breath is worse than yours or somewhat different from yours, you won't notice if that person has bad breath.

Do people seem to not be paying attention to you when you ask a question or say something, especially at the start of a conversation? This might be because they are distracted and thinking about your breath rather than listening to what you are saying. If the person that you are talking to touches his or her nose or face while you are talking to him or her, that person is probably unconsciously communicating to you that your breath is bothering him or her.

As you may know, the medical term for bad breath is Halitosis so you might want to also search for that keyword on this site for more answers, but this is what I suspect and would recommend:

You are right that you definitely need to do some cleansing because chronic bad breath is generally caused by a systemic problem throughout your body or at least involving more than just your mouth. It can also be caused by gingivitis and cavities, but usually people with bad breath, especially the ones that know that they have it, have very good oral hygiene to try and combat their mouth odor with frequent brushing, mouthwash and fresheners. So contrary to popular belief, halitosis requires a much deeper solution than mouthwashes, Mentos and mints which merely cover up the problem and in fact, often make the problem worse. Why? Because anything with processed sugars in them, especially if chewed or sucked on a regular basis will quickly contribute to the erosion of the enamel on your teeth leading to cavities and feed the bacteria embedded in your gums leading to Gingivitis and odor. Bacteria are the enemy so you don’t want to feed and sustain the enemy.

Any and all cleaning programs that you can do will accelerate your body’s recovery and return to proper balance (homeostasis). But probably two of the most important cleanses for people with halitosis are first, parasite and colon cleansing (and I don’t necessarily mean enemas and colonic irrigation but) with a product that will kill worms and related parasites. Trust me, you don’t want them living inside you. Check this out: http://www.drnatura.com/parasites.php. And second, since it is estimated that about 33% of us have Candida yeast overgrowth (which becomes systemic and spreads, expelling waste into the lungs and other organs), a Candida cleansing program is essential. All of these parasites, microbes and bacteria

produce a foul-smelling odor as waste, and unfortunately you take the blame for it.

For more on the Candida cleaning process, you should start here: http://www.naturalcures.com/Members/CandidaCleanse.aspx. Also read The Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates (which is recommended reading of this Natural Cures site): http://www.naturalcures.com/Members/DietNotEnough.aspx#books

Two more things that you should do: first is foot cleansing pads like the ones that are advertised on this site because a lot of toxins accumulate in the feet as it is farthest away from your heart so circulation can be poor there and feet often, if not always are enclosed in shoes and socks which create an environment that encourages fungal growth. One product is available from this site: http://www.naturalcures.com/Members/Introduction-To-Cleansing-And-D.... (Purchase here: http://www.naturalcures.com/marketplace/marketplace_category-vitami...). Second, which is part of the Candida cleansing process, it to eliminate all sugars from your diet until the yeast is under control (which could take upwards of 60-90 days) and then to limit the quantity of processed sugar that you eat after that period so the yeast problem doesn’t flare up again.

Since cleansing can take some time and as a supplement to cleansing, I use Biotene mouthwash because it kills bacteria and uses enzymes to break down undissolved food particles, it doesn’t dry your mouth and it tastes pretty good. But there might be a better mouthwash available on this site. Never use any toothpaste or mouthwash with alcohol that dries your mouth out and drink plenty of water each day because dry mouth is an incubation and nursing center for bacteria, which is an enemy of pleasant breath. I often use hydrogen peroxide as a lubricant when brushing my teeth which give the side benefit of whitening my teeth. And sometimes I use a toothpaste with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to help kill germs and odor. Also, scrape your tongue with a tongue cleaner or a spoon each time before you brush your teeth. And do not use breath mints on a regular basis and do not use gums with sugar nor most artificial sweeteners for the reasons I mentioned above. Chew gum with Xytol as a sweetener or Stevia when such becomes available.

Good luck and I hope you get this under control soon!

One simple way to truly freshen your breath and whiten you teeth is to buy a toothpaste which includes NO FLUORIDE. My teeth were often times white but still a yellow residue stained my teeth. However after using an all organic toothpaste with ingredients like, rosemary, thyme, peppermint, pine etc. I now notice that my teeth stay white and my breath has a PURE smelling freshness to it.

???

What's with all these complex suggestions?
Just jug down a spoon full of raw organic unrefined apple cider vinegar with mother.

Problem solved.

a drop or two of peppermint oil on the tongue. Careful as it can be overwhelming if you get too much on there. But this is what I do and its the bomb diggity.
