I have tried many techniques in my pursuit to stay thin.

The most effective for me has been Atkins and staying away from carbs.

What has worked best for everyone else? Just in case I am missing out...

The best diet... eat organics! Try to stay away from gluten (really bad for you) and if you want to speed up loosing weight, try 1 - 2 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil and 2-4 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar per day... include a 30 minute walk at least 4 times a week...
I lost 3 pounds in one week!

All protein is hard for the body to digest and consumes much energy compared to fruit sugars and plant starches wich are easier broken down and provide a better fuel for the body. Protein is mainly for body stucture like muscle, bone hair skin. For protein to be used as fuel the body has to convert it and make many changes that take time ane energy, before it can be burned as fuel. All body function derive energy from glucose. Fruit sugar is glucose, starch from palt food is broken down to glucose and protein as a last resort is turned into glucose.

It took much reading for me to sway from high protein and animal product, and the hardest part was excepting that I would be a thin person. I was brainwashed by the Idea of americans are big and strong and that is what I should aspire to be. But uknow i dont want to have a heart attack at 50 so goin from 225pnds to 160 is ok with me now cause living to 100 + yrs is going to be good.

I could say much more but

The HCG diet has worked well for me I lost 45 lbs. It is basically low carb, very low calorie and you take the hcg hormone, to supplement your calories from your own fat.

I would have to agree; taking HCG was my last resort to lose weight when everything else failed me after 5 years of unsuccessful attempts at weight loss. HCG was the ONLY thing that worked for me.
When I followed the Simmeons protocol, it worked, and worked beautifully. My blood pressure lowered substantially and I was taken off my thyroid medication during the protocol as blood work showed my thyroid was then "normal."
I felt great while on HCG; no bad side effects, only good ones!

Now, to maintain a healthy weight? Eating organically and realizing that moderation is the key when eating. Consuming fruits, berries, vegetables, fish and nuts. And, nothing after 7 pm except fluids. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water!! Exercise as often as you can.
Boo Hoo, I know I shouldn't, but I do eat some junk food now and then.

I am currently doing the Simeon's Protocol for body sculpting, I lost almost 40 pounds in Kevin Trudeau's Phase 1 of this protocol combined with (I hate to say it) the South Beach Diet. I don't think the SBD is a good tool for reducing when used alone, but it is good for learning about how to eat healthy if you are informed about the FDA and combine it with KT's tips from the Weight Loss Cure book. My MAJOR complaint with SBD is that it tells you to use low fat or fat free foods, which contain much more sugar than their whole fat counterparts and are nutritionally deficient. But it was a good starting point for a beginner like me.

What I like about Atkins diet is that it allow people to eat plenty meat with pleasure. But Atkins diet seem to me is for rich people diet.

The Atkins diet works on the premise of putting your body in a state of ketosis- which is not good for your kidneys

It may also depend on how intoxicated you are, for example, if you have a clogged liver you should do a liver flush after a colon cleanse, in this phase you should limit your animal protein.
