I have a bad case of eczema. When I first learned about it, I went to see a medical doctor and he gave me steroids (Prednisone), but the junk didn't work. Then I later learned that steroids was a bad thing. I eat healthy most of the time, but my skin rash feels like it's getting worse. It's extremely dry, scaly and it hurts. I've tried all kinds of lotions and none of them work. I have trouble sleeping because I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin. I am not enjoying life on account of this problem. Has anyone ever experienced this? What can I do about this? Thank you.
I am sorry to hear about your eczema, that is not a pleasant condition to live with. Just a little helpful info for you, Prednisone is a cortico-steroid, not an anabolic steroid. It will not build muscle, in fact it may cause some fat and water retention. More importantly though, it takes time to build up in your system in order to affect change in your condition. You did not say how long that you had been taking it, but I am guessing that it was not long enough for it to start to help. Steroids, in general are not a bad thing, steroid abuse by people who are not familiar with their uses and side effects is an extremely bad thing. Ask your Dr. if he or she thinks that you should have either been on the therapy for a longer amount of time, or maybe a higher dose. Unfortunately, as I said earlier, cortico-steroids do tend to lead to weight gain, so maybe there is another option available to you. Good luck
I have found a company that has healing oils for many conditions, and eczema is one of them. Their prices are reasonable, they have lots of testimonials, and a 60 day return policy. You can find a link on my page.
Hi -- I'm reposting this since I realized I shouldn't be putting an external link here. I agree with the person who recommended looking to the inside first, but I also have seen lots of great results from folks using a particular line of Ph balanced botanically based skin care products for babies. You can contact me for more info on those: karenbump@charter.net.
Asalia - I have eczema on my shins and coconut oil helps it immensely. I take my shower then rub it on. In 2 days it was almost cleared.
As the others have said, try working on internal healing too. Drink lots of water, adding omega 3's and working on getting your body alkaline by at least drinking some lemon juice in your water three times a day.
First you need relief - try the coconut oil. Good luck.
