Mom always said, 40 was the magical number, when you hit that, your waist line begins to expand. I was always the type who could eat whatever I wanted and never worried much about gaining weight. Not anymore! I swear, one day I was skinny and it seems like overnight(almost) I started gaining weight, so I'm on a quest. I started eating organic, feel better, still fat! Started walking, better tone, endurance, still fat! Drink lots of water, more energy, pee a lot and yep, still fat!.. Should I give up and except pudginess as part of the aging process? So depressing. I thought about the HCG injections after reading the book, but the cost scares me off.
Has anyone tried oral HGH? Is this the same thing as the oral HCG that Kevin talks about in his weight loss cure book? There are some many companies selling this stuff and they all claim they are the "real" deal and everyone else is a scam. You know how it goes. Buyer beware. This is a site that caught my attention among the many I looked at. ghr1000.com. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated

You have been acumulating toxins for years, you will need to take time to detoxify your body.
It will take time and effort. You can start with a colon cleanse, then a liver cleanse and then a candida cleanse.

Find a holistic doctor and have your thyroid checked. With all the toxins built up over the years the Thyroid / adrenal system is the first to go. Research adrenal fatique. And yes cleanses would be a good start. My holistic doctor has me on a product from xymogen called medCap T-3 . He says this supplement can rebuild you thyroid. I am also on a natural thyroid perscription but he says i shouldnt need this for long as long as I continue the medcap t-3. Let me know if you need more info on it.

Thanks, everybody, for all the suggestions and for taking the time to read the chubby girls post. I am frustrated, I guess. Loosing weight is hard. Never had a problem w/this before. Maybe it's karma for not being more understanding of people w/weight problems. I always said, eat less, exercise more., period. Until.... I started gaining weight. Not so easy.
I have been eating mostly, organic for over a year now. I'm sure by the time you hit forty, there is a lot of toxins built up. I done several different cleanses.(colon/parasite) I don't drink soda, don't eat out much, very little sugar, not much red meat. What am I missing? I happen to not have a thyroid anymore. But that was removed ten years ago. I take synthriod and test in the normal range. Although I do wonder how wide that range is and where I am in that range. I am a very active person and have a physically strenuous job. I did go on the Adkins diet several years ago w/my husband, of course he lost 40 lbs and I lost 15 but that put me back to my ideal weight(I'm only 5'3" so 15 is is a big deal, but I put 20+ back on). I know now, there are things that aren't healthy about that diet, but it seems like there is something to restricting carbs, at least for me, organic or not. I think candida may very well be an issue. I suspect this, because when I stop eating them(carbs), I do loose weight, but I am so hungry, like I am never satisfied no matter how much I eat. I dreamed about bread, no kidding. I know that even though I don't eat much sugar, carbs convert to sugar in your body. How do you know if you have Candida.? I'm thinking the dreaming about bread is a clue. And, what is this adrenal gland fatigue? How do you know if that is the problem?

Hi Robin, How much weight do you want to lose? Do you know how much fiber you are getting? I believe getting the right amount of fiber can be helpful in losing weight. I think there is a book out now called Fiber 30 by a natural health Doctor. I'm not sure of the exact name of it. You might be able to get it at your local library. As far as candida, I did a blood and stool test and paid $75 for it and now I find out that the stool part wasn't accurate. I'm going to find out the best test to have. The stool test isn't accurate because the candida is in the digestive tract (small intestines, and large intestine) and it's not necessarily in what comes out. I'm now taking something to eliminate candida from my small intestines. Nyota1
