Hello,
According to the the original "Pounds and Inches" manuscript, we are suppose to inject 125 I.U. a day. Yet everything I have read online says we should be taking 175 to 200 I.U. a day.
And from what I can tell, the online sources seem to believe that, that is what is written in the original manuscript by Simeons.
So is it just me that has some altered "Pounds and Inches" manuscript or what? My supplies have yet to arrive and I'm concerned about the amount I should take the day they do arrive. I need to know if the manuscript I have is accurate, and if it is why does everyone state otherwise?
Here is the print from my Pounds and Inches manuscript, word for word:
"As we are usually treating a fair amount of patients at the same time, we prefer to use vials containing 5000 units. With these the manufacturers also supply 10cc. of solvent. Of such a solution 0.25 cc. contain the 125 I.U., which is the standard dose for all cases and which should never be exceeded."
(I printed "Pounds and Inches" out, and the above is in the 2nd paragraph on page 32.) It goes on to say:
"This small amount is awkward to handle accurately (it requires an insulin syringe) and is wasteful, because there is a loss of solution in the nozzle of the syringe and in the needle. We therefore prefer a higher dilution, which we prepare in the following way:
The solvent supplied is injected into the rubber capped bottle containing the 5000 I.U. As these bottles are too small to hold more solvent, we withdraw 5cc., inject it into an empty rubber-capped bottle and add 5cc. of normal saline to each bottle. This gives us a 10cc solution in each bottle, and of this solution 0.5 cc. contains 125 I.U. This amount is convenient to inject with an ordinary syringe."
So should I follow the doctors manuscript and if so, do I follow the one I have read or the one I've never seen that people are referring to, I assume they have read a copy stating 175 I.U.. Also does anyone have a link or access to the manuscript that suggests that amount that they could share with me? Because I'm beginning to think I'm living in "The Twilight Zone".
.........................................................................
I also have read online that we are NOT to use more then one solvent to mix our hCG. The above manuscript by Simeons has us using two different solvents.
1.) the solvent that comes with the hCG
and
2.) normal saline
Online directions say never to mix two and to throw away the little bit of solvent that comes with our hCG.
