Today I ended my 45 days of injections and have lost a remarkable 33 pounds!!My story is one of alot of difficulty with my ever increasing body weight and absolutely no way out of the rut that I fell in. It was an exhausting and horrible path to walk to the results that I am gathering from HCG. I am very grateful for this program. Though, I do have much more to loose but I am seeing the light at the end of this very dark tunnel...
I want to know how to obtain some recipes that will give some flair to this otherwise, boring diet, especially on Phase 2.
I am also wanting to know if Phase 3, will do it's promise and while you are to refrain from sugar and carbs...will this weight still stay off??
I just completed my 1st round of P3 and I am back on P2R2. I did very well on P3 and if you stick to the no starch/no sugar for the entire P3, you'll do great. Get yourself a nice carb counting book (like Atkins or the ADA-American Diabetes Assoc online) and that will help you make good decisions about WHAT carbs to eat. I stayed away from all "whites" on P3-no pasta, flour, sugar, rice, bread-and I did really well.
Watch your weight every morning and weigh in and if you get 2 pounds above you LIW-last injection weight- do a steak day and it'll reset you.
Good luck and stay true to the protocol and you'll do great! If you cheat...you cheat yourself...

Hello! Thanks for the input. I was wondering if you are allowed popcorn.
This is week no#2 of P3 and I am stablized. I have not gained or lost these two weeks. I am still taking it slowly. My hunger is minimal and I am quite content to stay close to the low calorie diet on P2. It just feels better to eat like that...LOL. I am anxious to get my next rounds of injections started.
I have added a few things: cashews, cantalope, olive oil and cheese. That is it. I am just feeling satisfied so I dont' want much at this point.
How long have you been doing this? How much have you lost so far? How many more rounds are you thinking about doing?
I feel so good. This was the best thing that I ever did for weight loss..Wow!I am so happy with this.See ya; Karen
HI Karen
After phase 2 you want to count calories and take your current weight x10 and that should be what you are able to eat. Eat 5 to 6 moderate to smal meals a day. Also moderate your carbs 3 days and eat regularly the 4th and reapeat this cycle. The most important thing is for you to do some type of resistence weight training to build up your lean muscle mass that will increase your metabolism. This is what I have done and have been able to maintain. The 1st 2 times I did the protocol I always went up 12- 15 pds but not his time. I would also recommend the book Maximum Fat Loss by Ted Broer you can get it on e bay pretty cheap.
Keep up the good work.
John
Well, I just received the books on the mail and this doesn't seem to be so easy. I don't live in the States, so I wonder where am I going to find the hCG? I mean, are physicians open to prescribe such a thing? Isn't hormones something bad for us? I mean, we complain about the estrogen in poultry, meat, wherever, but then we have to get injections of a hormone that is produced by women during pregnancy?
Please, if someone is some kind as to explain me this with facts, I guess I'll try to open myself to new ideas. Like I said, this is just what I gathered from reading the book and I felt very dissapointed, it seems so hard and too expensive too.
Hi Karen!
They tell you to give yourself 3 weeks on strict P3 to reset your hypothalamus and then you can begin adding in straches and sugars in small amounts. I DID eat popcorn and did fine but only once a week and not a whole bag (like I used to!)
Stick to low carb/very little sugars and you'll do just fine. I also stayed pretty close to the VLCD but more meat and more cheese and I enjoyed eating that way.
John had great suggestions also about moderating carbs. I haven't tried that.
Sounds like you're doing great.
Hello!
So, do you mean that after you were on Phase3 for three weeks, you started adding some starches? I thought that was off limits, until you are where you want to be weight-wise. I will probably need to do two more rounds, depending on the weight loss progress.
I am stablized at this juncture and have not increased my weight since I started on P3. For this, i am truely grateful...LOL!I am invited to numerous, picnics, showers, weddings and this week we are camping...yeah, so that is alot of tempting food items to pass by..haha. I am good so far...
Hi Karen-
I do add in some sugars in small amounts once I have been on P3 for a full 21 days. Simeons does not have a differentiation between P3 and P4 and tells you to add in small amounts of sugars and starches after the initial 3 weeks of P3. I DO NOT eat any whites-pasta, cane sugar, rice, white flour.
If it's not something that you think that you can do without going "overboard" before you get back to P2, dont try it. It's not something everyone can do and some prefer the strictness of staying on a full P3 of no sugars/starches. I actually went a few pounds UNDER my LIW weight when I added back in, in small quantities.
Karen you are doing so great!!!! Stick to cheese..I am struggling a little big when I add back starchy carbs (like bread)..I crave like a crazy woman!! My problem is I cant eat just one...ya know:)
Wendi;I just recieved the cookbook.Yeah!Thank you so much!!I haven't tried any recipes, YET...we are going camping this weekend, But next week is a sure thing.
cheese is doing well for me. I love it and I do eat alot of cashews which I probably should ease up on those but it makes me feel full.
I am going to be ending my 6 week break sometime around August 15th. I am so looking forward to loosing some more...yahoo!my husband will be giving you a ring for the measuring.
Wait, you guys are going away so I have to call you before you leave...
I will call you up after I get home from camping(August4th)...
Thanks;Karen
Yes, you definitely do notice that. I can see some jiggling,LOL but my stomach area was really effected the most. It flattened almost immediately. I had alot of weight in my mid-section which bothered me everso much. Even though I have much more to loose, it is exciting to see it literally melt away. This is the best thing ever....Karen
