I was just wondering what type of eating habits or diet did anyone stick to between protocols. I was thinking that I might just switch to the atkins diet in between protocols until it is time go back onto the next phase of my protocol. Or did everyone just eat normally with just minor adjustments. I am just curious about what people did to maintain in between protocols.
I'm not sure I am the authority on this, but my sister has successfully navigated Phase 3 without more than a 2 lb. fluctuation, and she says she ate everything. Lots of fruits and veggies, dairy, nuts, more fatty meats like salmon and sardines. They left off grains and starchy/sweet fruits and veggies, but otherwise ate whatever (within the protocol guidelines) they wanted and they ate frequently. There were four of them doing the program together, and they all maintained within 2 lbs. She said she panicked the first time she had a 2 lb. gain, and did one steak day, but after that her weight went up and down almost daily and she relaxed.
I don't know much about the Atkins diet, but the objective of Phase 3 is to reset your metabolism, and in order to do that, your body needs quite a few more calories than you have been eating on the VLC diet, since there is an absence of the hCG to draw the stored fat calories into use. Another purpose is also to teach us proper eating habits, so while the objective is to stay within the LIW area, I think my goal will be to focus less on the business of counting, weighing, and monitoring, and more on the pleasure of eating to nourish my body.
Just my 2 cents!

I have not made it to the phase 3 portion still a 1st timer finishing my first session. I think I will consider your advice and stay away from the grains and starchy foods.
Orneryswife,I love what you said. Teaching us to eat reasonable.
I have compleated phase 2 twice and now i am just going into my second phase 3. I have lost almost 55 lbs. My first round 3 i ate normal with out starch and sugar (for 3 weeks then had them in moderation for 2 weeks). I actually lost 5 lbs at first then slowly gained back to around my last injection weight. Never had to do a steak day.
The foods i ate were healthy. Fruit but not highly sweet ones like mango. Lots and lots of veggies. even veggies everyday for breakfast. Usually for breakfast i ate a huge pile of chard, beet greens or spinach a poached egg,and a small amount of protien. A small protien shake(home made) for a snack made with berries. I ate nuts in moderation, cottage cheese, yogurt, really anything i wanted except sugar or starch. Eating smaller amounts often helps.
This morning i was creative. in my blender i mixed coconut flour, almond meal,a scoop of protine powder,1 egg, tiny bit of canolia oil, yogurt, sea salt and baking powder. I whipped this up and let it sit for 20 mn or so. Heated a cast iron skillet lightly oiled and made a 2 small pancakes. they were very good. I have some batter in the fridge for the morning. I put a poached egg on top and had some fresh blueberries with it. For a snack i had about 1/2 cup cottage cheese with a orange.
My neighbor just called telling me she had 2 crab for us(they crab almost daily) so tonight i will make a crab salad with olives egg a little grated cheese, red onion and what ever else goes in a crab louie. I'll make home made thousand island dressing. That will have a tad bit of sugar due to the ketchup and sweet pickles. but all said and done the amount i will be ingesting will be slight.
I'm re reading a great book. super foods RX .I just finished reading a section about a high fat high protien diet, and what it does to our body. We don't require much protien daily. Too much is hard on our organs and creates other health concerns. Our bodies need a variety of fresh fruit, veggies, lean meat, grains, and beans. some day if we do this right,we can eat all this in moderation and maintain our weight.
I am not sure what you mean when you say between protocols?? If you have done Phase 1, 2 and 3..you go onto 4....if you need to go back to phase 2 but want to give sometime between rounds, which is what I have been doing. I went to Phase 4....BUT you learn what your body can and can not eat on Phase 4 ...you have to keep control of that or you will gain it back.
About Atkins.... This is my personal opinion...I think that an Atkins like approach is okay for short term on Phase 3. But remember what happened to Mr Atkins..they really push red meat. I think if you take the idea of meat as your protein...(chicken and fish and some red meat) that should be good. But Atkins doesnt recommend organic or natural or anything that I know of. You really need to see what works best for you and enables you to maintain.:):)
Good luck!:)
I will be finishing my next session of hcg and then will have to take a six week break. My question is do I need to maintain a certain diet until the next phase if my protocol. I do not eat a lot of red meet anyway so staying awaying from that is no problem. I am interested in knowing if people just stuck to the stringent menu of foods to eat during their off time (in between phases).
Hi Wendi:
Please share with me how to mix the HCG. i purchased 5 vials of HCG 2000iu's
I purchased 10 vials of B water in vials.
I need 175ius per day.
My needles are 1/2 ml or 50 units.
From reading the internet articles, this 2000ius should do me 11 days of injections.
But if I use 17.5 on the marking on the syringe, HOW much B Water will I need to use from the B water to put with the HCG? this is so confusing.
I wanted to start today but I am almost into noon and it is to later in theday to start.
I want to start tomorrow.
Many Thanks
Darby
