Hello, I would REALLY appreciate some advice-
I am excited to see results - today I was down 5.5 lbs from the start of load day one- four days ago. But I am also feeling really mixed up with directions about what I am doing. I am on my second day of HCG (if you don't count the first 2 days of loading). (it hasn't been easy though I am SO hungry)
I purchased it from a local Dr. I am injecting 200 units daily.
So, following her directions -She says that
a) you can use any creams, body products you wish
b) you can mix vegetables as you wish
c) any teas are okay
d) no gum
e) you can munch on "allowed" veges in between meals
f) NO vitamins accept calcium and vitamin C

The last one really has me confused. If Trudeau is recommending and even selling vitamins- one being Omega 3's (aren't those oils?), then should I be continuing those?
I've read conflicting guidelines, so can anyone tell me;

1. Should you take vitamins and omega 3's?
2. Can you drink any teas?
3. Is sparkling water okay?
4. Do body products matter?
5. Is there any gum that is okay? (brand names please!)
6. Can you eat buffalo?
7. Does it really matter if you mix vegetables?

Thanks in advance to any advice or counsel.
J

Hi. I am on my second course. I have lost 25 lbs this time. I recommend that you go to the natural cures website and print out and read Dr. Simeons original manuscript. Body creams containing fat or oil will ruin your diet efforts. You absorb the fat thru your skin when on HCG. Gum is not ok. I have substituted organic ground buffalo for beef and had no problems. Aloe vera gel is a good substitute for lotion. Do not use conditioner. If my skin or hair gets really dry, I cut out one meat serving and use a drop of conditioner mixed with a drop of aloe vera gel on my hair. I put on a pair of disposable gloves, and apply it only to the ends of my hair, then I add one or two drops of eye cream just on any dry spots on my face. This has worked for me. I sometimes have lettuce with onions and tomatoes. That seems to work as long as I am very diligent about keeping my meat portions "honest". I also drink natural sparkling water with lemon (just make sure there is no sugar added). Best of luck to you. I hope this helps! Also, I ONLY take calcium supplements, as K.T. recommends.

I am not sure why your doctor is telling you to eat allowed vegies between meals. You cannot mix veggies either or use any creams, etc. as Lori stated below. I agree with Lori. After doing 2 full rounds of the protocol and losing 36 pounds, I say follow Dr. Simeon's manuscript to the T. It is so much easier than trying to do new things that other people recommend. No gum or mints, yes to buffalo (low fat--I use 90/10 buffalo), use gloves when cutting your meats and touching the fat on it or when cooking with high fat foods for your family. Hope this helps. Michele

I found a great place to find body products and even cosmetics that can be used for those of us getting HCG. It is recommended to use products that don't contain fats/oils/parabens, etc - as 60% of everything you put on your body soaks in. And, yes...the oils/fats/parabens can actually inhibit weight loss - as well cause cancer by altering hormone levels, etc. I found a great online store that lists all the ingredients for all the products. www.NaturalJoyBeauty.com carries approved products. I use some of the Real Purity and Aubrey Organics products and have had great success. I have liked the products so much that I don't plan on going back to my old, un-natural ways! Good luck on your weight loss efforts!

Hi,
Sorry have a couple of silly questions. Does touching the fat on meat really keep you from losing weight? Also, I hand wash my dishes. Does this mean I must use gloves? ( Haven't started the diet yet- still waiting on delivery).
Thanks.

Amme, I think the fat on the food is a real issue, at least for me it was. I think some people are more sensitive than others. If it were me, I would buy a box of disposable gloves and use them when you know you are dealing with fatty meats. I especially used them when I was making food for my family that I could not eat (like homemade cinn. rolls with lots of butter, etc.) I went through 3 rounds of phase 2 and found that for me it did effect me. Not so sure the dish washer detergent was a big issue, but if you start slowing down on weight loss, I would start using gloves. Best wishes.
