I'm about to move in with my soon to be father in law, and it's a darn good thing. My fiance and I just recently had to take him to the hospital for extreme stomach pain. His entire colon was badly enflamed. Seeing as how he has had diverticulitis, a partial colonectomy, and a double hernia, I was not surprised. My fiance told him that we're gonna take care of him now and he agreed. I'm sure he'll be really stubborn and set in his ways however. I'm going to try my best to make some healthy changes in his diet. He's fifty eight years old and if something doesn't change he'll die soon.
This man...
1. Has smoked since the age of thirteen.
2. Is addicted to diet coke.
3. Eats disgusting cheap walmart meat.
4. Eats lots of sugar.
I'm thinking my first order of business will be to replace his little debbie cakes with some healthy alternative... and to tell him to just let me take care of buying the meat. Annnnd maybe get him on a probiotic. Any suggestions? This will have to be done gradually and tactfully...
