Kevin mentions taking a tbsp in the morning and evening. Has anyone used coconut oil and what health benefits if any did you receive from it?
I have it in solid form.

I make what I call "coco crack" using 1 cup of coconut oil, 5 Tbs Cocoa and about two small spoons of Stevia. Melt the coconut oil stove top, add the other ingredients and stir. Pour into tiny muffin tins, or onto a cookie sheet with wax paper. FREEZE. Then either pop the muffin sized candies out or break the sheet of chocolate into pieces. YUM. It is so addicting!

Doesn't the coconut oil have a lot of saturated fats, that is bad for us...

Coconut oil has wonderful fat! It's make-up is different than canola oil, shortening, vegetable oil, etc. It is actually very good for you; Here's a couple of sites:

Google it. Some even use it to lose weight.

I like coconut oil for skin lotion as well as to eat. I also put some in my hair once every week or two. It helps my skin and my hair feel soft and smooth. It also helps with dry skin in the winter time.

Saturated fats are absolutely necessary for good health. I not only eat coconut oil, but butter, lard and tallow. In fact I fry using lard and tallow. They don't leave the coconut aftertaste in my mouth.

The demonizing of saturated fats is the biggest scam of the last 50 years, right next to cholesterol.
