I have had severe migraines for 8 years now. I get at least one migraine a day.I am on so many drugs, and I have had what seems ever test under the sun. The odd part is that I did not have one migraine in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of my pregnacy. So I thought it might be hormonal, but they have been switching those around for a year and still nothing. I have had food allergy tests done and taken those foods out, and that made no difference. I don't know what to do, and all my neurologist does is throw more pills at me. I can hardly function and I have a toddler! I think I need to just completely change my lifestyle. I don't know if I should go raw, what to eat what not to eat? I just need help!!! There is so much information , and it all gets so confusing

Andrea all of what Michelle has said can help. Taking it one step further be sure to stay hydrated....at least your body weight in onces daily. Use a filtered water that has minerals included. Have you tried magnets? My husband suffered migrans for over 30 years and since using magnetic technology and our Wellness Home he hasn't had one in 2 yrs. Hope this can help.

Thank You all sooo much, this will be helpfull, yes I have gone to chiropractors for years, some I like some I don't, but it hasn't seemed to help. I take flax and omega 3, and tons of vitamins, I always take them, but they don't help either. I know I have to get off of the pills, I just don't know how. Will the pain ever go away? I have a little boy, and no family around, I can't just shut myself into a room. This seems like the way to go, I just no nothing of any of it. Do you have any websites that you recommend so that I can do some research. The problem is the money, we give up a lot so that I can stay home to raise our family, and we don't have health insurance, so my problems have really put us into a hole, but I have to do what I have to do. The thing is I have been doing what I thought I needed to be doing for years. Getting tests, hormones, and pills, and so far just disapointment.

Tonight my husband and I are going to try to sort through everything, and make some immediate changes. I will definately try the garden of life! It is the food part that is going to be hard though. I feel that I need to just quit everything cold turkey! I can't wait around for months to see what works and what doesn't, I am almost at my breaking point!
So, after eliminating dairy, sugar, processed meat, and my alergy test revealed that I am allergic to both kinds of yeast, eggs, oats, and quinoa, whats left????
Today was a bad day, I have had a migraine that I can't get rid of I have taken 3 imitrex that did not work, and had to reluctantly go to the vicodin. So tomorow I have to go to the hospital to get infused with DHE, which is supposed to get me "unstuck" from the dependent headache. It usually works for about 2 days and then I get them back again, hoping that then just 1 imitrex will work.
I also take topamax as a preventative (yeah right) and in the last month my neurologist has had me jump from neurontin to keppra to Lamictal, which is what I am on right now, non of which have worked

I have been using magnets for years.....there are several companies out there that produce magnets for health. I use Nikken products. THEY HAVE MAGNETS OF DIFFERENT SIZES AND CAN BE APPLIED TO THE BODY WITH DOUBLE STICK SURGICAL TAPE. MY HUSBAND APPLIES ONE TO HIS TEMPLE WHEN HE GOT MIGRANES OR HIS NECK OR FORHEAD DEPENDING ON THE SOURCE POINT. After about 5 minutes he gets relief. My son also tried it after much grumping about it...and found success. I can share many testimonials with you. I will email you the site so you can do some research. There may be a Wellness Consultant close to you that can loan you a product to use.

Andrea,
I think that I would have to agree with almost everything everyone has said on here. I grew up with horrible migrains, and I missed alot of school due to them. I have to say the thing that changed my migrians the most was diet change. I think It had alot to dow ith nutritional deficiencies and food allergies as well. Recently I have stopped buying so much fruit and vegetables to juice for nutrition and went a to a whole food supplement that has is all LIVING, "The Feast". It has in it : 30 Antioxidant Rich Fruits & Berries,30 Powerful Greens & Vegetables, 11 Nutrient Dense Seeds, Nuts & Sprouts, 83+ Active Enzymes & Fulvic Minerals, 22 Strains of Resilient Living Probiotics Check it out and let me know what you think. I have personally met with several Master herbalist and Alternative health care providers that have said that they have looked for a product like this for over 20 years! I was told to take this and only this because it would not only nurish my body like nothing else, it would also start a natural cleanse, and re-regulate my body to its natural state.......I was sckeptic at first but did it anyways, and I can say that it took a couple of weeks, but after that period I noticed a huge boost that I havent felt before. I am more agile and more mentally clear as well. My joints and pains are at a minimum and now have gotten all of my friend hooked as well. lol
Best of luck!!!

Can you get this at health food stores, or is it only through their website? It does sound good, but there is sooo much information out there. I want something that I can go pick up tomorrow though. I am so desperate for something to work, ya know

No it is through their website........However if you are looking for a quick fix, have you tried the chiropractors out yet? Or changed your diet? Hell I have even heard of an increase in Magnesium helping. I am not implying that will indeed cure you, but I know from experience it helps tremensly. I personally have found that diet alone can effect and miracalously heal the body fast. I not only had headaches helped from it, but two knees that were in horrible shape after 2 knee surgeries were healed by diet alone too. Kevin Trudeau on NC said the following about headaches...
Quick Action Plan for Headaches
1. Since food allergies can play a role in over 90 percent of certain types of headaches, such as migraine, it is important that you be screened for food allergies and sensitivities, and avoid eating all foods that you are allergic or sensitive to.

2. Emphasize a diet of fresh, organic foods with an emphasis on vegetables, especially dark leafy green vegetables, salads, free-range organic poultry, wild-caught, cold-water fish, and non-gluten, complex carbohydrate foods, such as red potatoes, squash, and yams.

3. A helpful dietary remedy for headaches is “potassium broth,” which can be made by combining washed but unpeeled carrots and potatoes with a variety of potassium-rich green vegetables into a pot of water. Bring the water to a boil, and then simmer for ten to 15 minutes, then strain out the broth and sip it throughout the day.

4. To help prevent and reverse headaches, supplement with B-complex vitamins, vitamin B3, vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, along with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), evening primrose oil, and the amino acid DL-phenylalanine.

5. Certain herbs can also help prevent and reduce headache symptoms. These include bay leaves, cayenne pepper, chamomile, coriander, garlic, ginkgo biloba, ginger, skullcap, turmeric, valerian root, wild yam, and willow bark.

6. Since headaches are often due to chronic muscle tension and/or muscle spasm, bodywork can be extremely helpful in minimizing the risk of headaches, especially Alexander Technique, Bowen Therapy, Feldenkrais, massage therapy, Polarity therapy, Structural Integration and Rolfing.

7. Hot baths, saunas, and steam baths can help ease headache pain by increasing blood circulation and easing muscle tension.

8. Learning how to cope with daily stress by practicing relaxation exercises can also significantly reduce the incidence of headaches. One of the simplest methods of relaxation is simply to close your eyes as you sit comfortably in a chair, breathing gently and deeply through your belly. Do this for five minutes at a time and repeat throughout the day.

9. At the first sign of migraine symptoms, add two tablets of Alka-Seltzer Gold to a glass of water and drink immediately. This simple technique can often halt migraine symptoms very quickly.
