What are the purposes of charities? Where is the cancer research money going? Who is doing the research and why do they need money? This is just for starters.
Good questions that need answers! Personally I dont throw my good money after bad (charities) because they just seem to want your money but no cures are forthcoming. Case in point, look at how many years they've been doing the Jerry Lewis Telethons for MS but they havent found a cure yet and look at the millions, no billions people have given. Cancer cures? Never happen, there's just too much money to be made, again, throwing good money after bad. The cancer research money is lining the fat cats pockets. As for cures, think about it, the last time a disease was actually cured was polio back in the 1950's. I'm old enough to remember the scare of just going to school and seeing friends drop like flies. Anyone that just caught a cold was practically shunned in fear of getting polio. Iron lung machines were everywhere and finally, finally when Dr Salk's wife contracted polio, he said enough was enough and worked on the disease and found a cure. Overnight the polio epidemic was OVER and so was the big bucks being spent on it and if you think about it, there havent been any real cures since then. Oh sure, there have been small "breakthroughs" as they like to call it now, but to ACTUALLY CURE A DISEASE?? forget about it, there's too much money and special interests and big government pork pockets to want a real cure for any real disease. To be healthy, you only need to eat pure organic foods, completly unprocessed or tampered with by man but they keep that little bit of simple knowledge as hidden as they can so that the "pork projects" can keep making money and keep making more drugs that dont do any good.
Right, and another reason that I believe ‘they’ will never find cures to cancer and most diseases is because they are always barking up the wrong tree. They study diseases but not health and so they have trouble comprehending how to get from point a (disease) to point b (healthy). Pretty much anything that is good for the body and works with the body rather than against it is usually available to the public in some country if not all and is not patentable. They will never spend one dime researching anything that is not patentable as they can’t get rich that way which means they will never study any vitamins or minerals or any natural foods in whole or in part. You can’t find a cure if you never look in the right place and they never look in the right place.
I agree, My daughter has cancer, She could not get any help from any sources. She was given 6 months to live. that was over 3 years ago. We treated her with a lot of natural products and a lot of prayers. cancer is in remission (or gone)
The Salvation Army, thrift stores and the good will stores are top flight for helping people. The salvation army feeds people that otherwise wouldnt have a meal under their belt and thrift stores and the good will help people to buy clothing and dishes, furniture, etc that they surely couldnt afford on minimum wage. I know from personal experience how the thrift stores kept me and my children clothed. When I was divorced, I had two children. Minimum wage barely paid the rent and utilities and food. When school would start, I'd take the kids to the local salvation army thrift store and hunt through the clothing. We'd walk out with 5 shirts, 5 pairs of pants, five blouses and skirts and a coat for my boy and girl for the school year and the coat for winter. I'd spend about twenty dollars for everything. The kids were young enough to consider the trip to the thrift store an "adventure" and were also old enough to know I couldnt afford "store bought clothes". There was also a small furniture section and I was able to buy furniture that only needed a good cleaning or restaining or painting to make it feel "new" again. This was back in the late 60's and 70's and minimum wage back then was about a dollar and thirtyfive cents an hour. I worked a 40 hour week and almost half of it went to the part time baby sitter the kids went to after school till I got home from work, but we managed anyway. Things were just as tough back then as they are for people today. My financial situation is a lot better today and I give to the Salvation Army bell ringers because I know they do good. Without them, my kids and I would have been wearing rags back then or would not have had basic furniture. As for the pink ribbon cancer cure charities, or other "charities" that continue to call or mail out requests for donations, they're just fire starter for my fireplace today. At least they dont end up in the land fill and have a purpose, to start my fires that keep my home warm in winter. About the only other charity, if you can call it that, that I do agree with is the Habitat For Humanity that builds homes for people that need one. We have a local store that will collect furniture donations for the Habitat For Humanity homes that are built. Those are the only "charities" I will dontate to.
