Hi Tanya!
When my boys were young, I (if it didn't know what I was dealing with), would take them to the Dr. ONLY for a diagnosis, then I would go home, and treat them myself..I never purchased the prescriptions)
If you are looking at infection due to E-Coli, you may wish to: Have her 'eat' cranberries, as opposed to drinking the juice..It eating will actually kill and 'flush' the bacteria
There are many things..
Cranberry Juice works FAST. UNSWEETENED ONLY(as sugar only feeds the bacteria)
Vitamin C (calcium Ascorbate, is best, it has calcium/and is buffered so it won't upset the stomach) Emergency dosage.
Natural antibiotics also include:
Colloidal Silver,
Oil of oregano, Grapefruit seed extract, garlic, are all excellent antibiotics..
LOTS and LOTS of water (I know, may be difficult for a 4 year old)
Watch her diet, staying away from 'acid' forming foods, ie, chocolate, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, tomatoes, carbonated drinks, chicken and red meats. And give her lots of probiotics. Bladder infections are no fun, I've dealt w/many in my day..
I'll be sending healing energies her way!
Best,
Deni
If it was my daughter, I would give her apple cider vinegar diluted in water. Are you familiar with that? Garlic would be good too. I just made some carrot juice with garlic in it. I am not sure how much for a child, because I don't have children. If it didn't get better within a few days, I would take her to a Doctor, just to have it checked out. A lot of purified water, and foods with vitamin c would be good too.
If she won't take straight cranberry juice or eat cranberries you may be able to get her to swallow cranberry capsules. My daughter has had luck with these. I would also suggest giving her showers instead of baths until this clears up. I've found that baths are usually the culprit in children.

thanks everyone!! i havent tried anything yet b/c i wasnt sure if it was infact a UTI, but she isnt complaining anymore about it hurting but if it starts up again, i will definately try some of the things suggested to me on here. :-)
My daughter who is almost 4 complains a bit now and then but I find that so far it has been because she doesn't clean too well after going pee. Soaking in a warm bath usually helps, I add a couple drops of lavender oil. I keep reminding her how to clean well and even change her undies a couple times a day sometimes. I think if it was truly a uti needing treatment she would be complaining much more since she's old enough to explain any pain. I do have her drink diluted cranberry/rasberry juice occasionally just in case too.
if you use cranberry juice, you don't want to use the commercial kind. It has nothing in it. Try an organic fresh organic juice or buy organic cranberries and juice them yourself. You will need to sweeten it with an organic sweetener, as it is very sour and your daughter probably won't drink it. Either that or go to a health food store and get the capsules if she can swallow pills. The juice is probably best if she will take it sweetened.
