At the beginning of the year I did a 8 day fast in which I only consumed fruit and vegetable juices. I also took a colon cleanse product which contacted psyllium to clean the bowels. I have been feeling really ill and was hoping by doing the fast that it would help with my health problems ( I have an underactive thyroid, which Im having a real hard time having treated) I also did the gallbladder flush twice after the fast. Since doing the fasts, I have had really extreme bloating, like I feel like my pregnant. It has slowly improved as the months go by and I have been taking good bacteria, but it still seems to be a problem. Does anyone know why this happened?

After the fast I had an iridology done and was told i had some toxicity in my bowels. I don’t understand how this could be, i had just done a fcleanse and taken a colon cleansing product. Also toxicity went up in my body. :( I don’t understand how this happened. I later found out that while fasting toxins are released in the blood stream. I’m thinking this could be the reason. Was I meant to take something to cleanse the blood also? Have I wasted my time doing this juice fast? Did I receive any benefits? Is fasting safe to do if you have an under active thyroid?

Also can fasting muck up your hormones? After the fasts I was really moody. I have taked saliva tests that show I have some imbalances. I do think now though that these imbalances were there before I did the fast. I’m hoping once I balance them out, my symptoms will go away. I have taken iodine and it helped in the beginning, I’ve stoped taking it cause it doesn’t help anymore.

Another odd thing is my morning and midmorning cortisol were high and dhea was just on the high mark also. Does anyone know if this is adrenal exhaustion? I’m only in my 20s I have been feeling unwell for 5 years now. If anyone can help answer some of my questions I would be incredibly thankful.

Seriously,.... I have found that a whole body cleanse (one quality product) to to a much better job than all of these individual cleanses for this and that... AND its much cheaper too.. And its not something you do now and then... It is something you do continually...

Over the course of 10 years I have seen many and tried many... Only one stands alone in my opinion...

Kay,

The simple fact that you are doing cleanses at all should tell you that toxic substances will be released into your bloodstream to be filtered out by the kidneys, liver, etc., and eventually flushed out. Currently, these toxins are being stored in fat globules, lymphatic system, liver, etc..

But this has to be done GRADUALLY. If you were to pull out every toxin into your bloodstream, you would simply poison yourself. It pretty much goes without saying that you will suffer "side effects" of a cleanse due to toxic release. What you want to do is flush out these toxins QUICKLY before they resettle into your body.

DRINK A LOT OF WATER while you are doing cleanses to aid getting these toxins flushed out. Even if you think you are drinking a lot of water, drink even more than that (it's not like you can overdose on water, ya know?). This will ensure that toxins are being flushed out quickly and minimize the side effects of cleansing.

Also, a diet change would be beneficial. To continue poisoning yourself with conventional food while you are cleansing kind of defeats the purpose of cleansing.

I hope this helps.

I agree with Tim. I would also suggest doing chlorophyll enemas to help get the toxins out quicker. When done properly they can clean out both the colon and the liver at the same time. Read more about it in the cleansing group I started.
