Eating meat and fish is the best way to eat and control weight be healthy and help our planet.

Having meat and fish is the best way to eat and keeps one healthy. This shows great respect for nature and our fellow beings when we cut, bleed and eat their flesh. In fact it is so healthy that we would die if we would stop eating them for even a single day.

And no fast foods!

Fast foods are the crux of american life. I never see any mcdonalds or kfc or burger king closing down. Michael, hope your message helps people to avoid junk.

I was watching something on youtube about americans being the worst tourist. People in other countries say that americans don't care about the history or culture of the countries that their visiting. All they are doing is looking for fast food.

Question; How the !@#$ does killing & eating an animal show respect for it? lol

Was that to me Rashawn? Does sound funny, doesn't it. I guess if you choose to eat meat, you should acknowledge something had to die in order for you to do that. I eat meat, but I think that is a personal choice. I don't approve of animals being treated inhumanly or killed without a reason(trophy hunting, sport fishing etc.) death is death. I always have been leery of people who enjoy killing animals. The American Indians use to thank the animal for giving it's life so that they might live. Kinda the point I was making.

I just watched Food Inc. yesterday. I have seen similar documentaries in the past but it really struck a chord. I've been wondering for awhile if it's ethical for me to eat flesh when I would not be able to take the life myself (with the exception of survival for myself or children). I just know I wouldn't have a big Sunday chicken dinner if I had to kill and process that chicken myself (I say chicken because I don't eat red meat or pork, with the exception of bison on rare occasions). A fish wouldn't be as bad for some reason. I was a vegetarian for 2 1/2 years in Jr. High. I live in the south and finally gave it up when I was at a church retreat and starving because there wasn't really anything for me to eat. It's funny because there was so much peer pressure for me to eat meat. Kids made fun of me all the time. Anyway, I wish I'd been confident enough in myself to not have let it affect me.

I've even thought about going vegan but that would be hard since I avoid soy products. I guess it would just take a lot of research and energy that I'm not ready to devote, yet. I also have a husband and 2 children that I have to feed. My daughter is a vegetarian but eats quite a bit of dairy (mainly cheese). My hubby has actually adjusted quite well with me cutting red meat and pork out my diet and therefore his, since I don't buy or cook it for him. He would never agree to a vegan lifestyle. I honestly don't cook chicken all that often because the free-range organic is sooo expensive. It's a lot to think about and especially when you have to take into account the rest of the family and their dietary preferences. I'll make it there one of these days.

Funny, you should say that: I have made myself kill a chicken in order to feel more justified in eating them. I would kill an animal to survive, but I take the easy way out, as long as I have someone else do it for me who agrees with and carries out my philosophies about humane treatment and slaughter.
