Tonight I felt horrible as usual, and began to observe a problem in the chest area. Most of the time I attribute it to my heart or emotions, but with my long history of asthma I'm beginning to consider it may be caused by narrowing of the bronchials or possibly related to a lack of circulation. This may in turn then have an inhibitory effect on the heart, the center of emotion and inspiration.

I tried holding my breath for as long as I could multiple times, and it went away. This encouraged me to start inhaling camphor-based chest/respiratory rub.

It caused me to wonder, how many people suffer from emotional problems or depression who, in fact, might just be suffering from an inhibited respiratory system.

Everything is connected.. There are no isolated health issues.. This is why most good naturopathic doctors and others in this field tend to treat "whole body health" rather than isolate like conventional medicine does most of the time... It can take some time to find out the connection... Looks like that is the direction your going...

Emotional problems such as depression can be in relation to many things.. More often than these people usually have a deficiency in things like Vitamin D3, Niacin and magnesium...

Not talking out of my hat here (smile).. I am a certified nutrition and wellness counselor and also have 20 years experience with the use of supplements...

If you find what your doing helps - that is the main thing..

Mark:

I have to agree with Linda here. Everything is connected. And when the body's not doing good, the mind is constantly working on the problem of "trying to get by" or "making it better"... which elevates the stress levels, making it even worse.

Seriously. You think you've found a pattern to what makes an attack happen, only to be proven wrong time and again. It's like a barrage of "You're wrong! You're wrong!" swatting you in the back of the head and no solution can be found. There's little wonder asthmatics have no recourse but to take inhalers or OTCs.

I remember when I used to have asthma (from '64 to '83), I didn't do much of anything physically, with the fear that strenuous activity would draw on a bout of wheezing or at worst, an attack. But I did an intense full body cleanse in '83 and that was when the asthma went away. THEN I turned into an exercise junkie for a number of years! (catching up, I guess! hehe)

So nutrition is all fine (stay way from milk and starches as they create an overproduction of mucous!) but seriously consider an intense cleansing program. All those poisons the doctors give you to manage asthma need to be flushed out and only then can your body begin to readjust itself.

Cha-ching!

Two cents.
