Well. Didn't this topic take a downward spin.

If *I* wanted to make a better society, where would I start?

The first place would be physical health, closely supported by mental and spiritual health. The second place would be the ability for the individual to create his own freedom as to achieve personal happiness. I think KT is pretty much on the mark in the SEQUENCE in which he attempts to better conditions--based on the release of his books. I'm not saying the guy is a saint, I'm saying he's layed down guidelines in which goals for PERSONAL betterment can be achieved in the correct sequence.

Reversely, were I to want to attempt to destroy a society, these very same areas would be my primary targets: make 'em sick, keep them dumbed down, cowering in fear, and as unstable as possible... financially or otherwise. Those are the sheep looking to be "saved" by the Feds or some drug.

There is no doubt that there are many of those who have read his books, even if only the first one, has attained a degree of awareness not available before by conventional media outlets. Any copy of Men's Health or an evening of television can be found to be saturated with drug ads and misleading information. Most any scrap of information you use from his books can be found to better your personal conditions, IF YOU USE IT and IF IT INDICATES AS A TRUTH TO YOU. Some stuff I use, most I don't because it doesn't "click" for me.

As a businessman (or entrepreneur), he's succeeded and failed at a number of projects. Any person with a degree of motivaton for personal sucess is going to keep at it until he gets it right. He's on top when he's had many more successes than failures. Really, that goes for anyone.

I don't have a problem with KT making money. Hell, I don't think it's wrong for anyone to make money, so long as they're not damaging people along the way. Money is a measurement of personal success, not of happiness... although if it's done right, you should have both!

I personally don't like his radio program. He enunciates in a way that is a little too overbearing to me. That's not to say his information is wrong, only to say it doesn't communicate to me in a way that I can enjoy and learn something. I like his books better.

Anyway, from my personal viewpoint, I think he represents far more good than bad. I achieved a degree of awareness I didn't have before, pertaining to my own health and how the Feds and Pharma Cartel operate (which includes such groups as the AMA and APA).

I won't say KT's my greatest hero, but I will say that following a good chunk of his advice has vastly improved my life.

I'd put him up there in the Top Ten. ;)

Robyn brings up a good point about how every body in germany loved hitler for getting them out of the depression. I always think its funny that hitler was a vegan. What harm could kt really do? Even if he ran for office(which if he did i'd vote for him) could he possible be as bad as hitler? Tim G. What is dianetics about? I know its a part of scientology but i don't know anything about it.

Che:

haha Yeah, I'd probably vote for KT too. I'd LOVE to see the federal government totally overhauled and I think he'd give it a run for its money.

If *I* was to give a definition, Dianetics is a culmination of 35 years of research. It's roots are part 19th Century psychoanalysis (Sigmund Freud is referenced several times), part cellular biology and part early nuclear physics, particularly mathematics.

There were seven books written on the subject of Dianetics ("Science of Survival", of which Robyn quoted above, is actually Dianetics, not Scientology--although Scientologists use the reference. It is still Dianetics). There were also several lectures in the Dianetics series, roughly 30 lectures.

In a nutshell, the body's cells "remember" physical pain and react to circumstances similar to what caused the pain. For example, you walk into a table in the dark. At another time, you walk in the dark, but "subconsciously" you feel around for a table as to avoid pain. "Clearing" means you are unaffected by these earlier memories of pain and so can act freely without the influence.

There's a lot more involved than just that (I am really oversimplifying it), but the basic goal is "clearing" your cells of these memories of pain as to be free from reacting subconsciously.

"Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health" really explains the basics (the first part of the book is EXCELLENT), but the later books expand on the theories and practices to remove pain caused by psychosomatic sources.

Tim,
You and I agree on way more than we disagree.
I guess what it comes down to, is what the person in power "defines" insanity is or what " getting rid of them " means.
Maybe I would be considered insane if I didn't agree or opposed their ("person in power") ideas or beliefs..
I think since your such a rational, tolerant person yourself, maybe you don't understand why I think Ron Hubbards comments are dangerous.

Suppose Ron Hubbard was still alive, and Scientologist ruled the world. And here's me blogging about how much I oppose his ideas and think he's dangerous and intolerant. I would cause a ruckus, a disturbance. I would be bringing down the "cultural tone scale" Would I be considered insane and need to be "processed"or "deleted"

These ideas that he proposes are just intolerance disgusted by rationality.

If I hurt someone, put me away where I can never harm anyone again. If I don't agree with you(person in Power) kick me off your web-site, call me a bad name, tell everyone I crazy, but tolerate me because I have inalienable rights to life, liberty(freedom to express my opposition) and the pursuit of what makes me happy.

Don't process me into believing what you do so I'll be quite, don't quarantine me so I won't bring done the tone scale and don't delete me so I won't influence anyone else to my way of thinking. Because if that happens then I am living in tyranny, not Scientology heaven.

And, I hope no one thinks I was comparing Kevin to Hitler. No way. I disagree with'"some" of the beliefs of Scientology. These comments are only explaining why I disagree.

Robyn:

I don't believe you'd be shot or put away for simply disagreeing.

In the "Spirituality" topic, you actually quoted Dianetics theory ("Our brain stores all the conscious knowledge: what we are taught, what we learn in school, what we learn from our experiences. But our soul separates the right from the wrong."). In "Science of Survival", the less your soul seperates right from wrong, the more you are REACTING without thinking rationally. The more "down" you go, the more "animal" you become.

If you had a mother-in-law that beats you down constantly, I'd sure hope to hell you'd find a way to ELIMINATE that stress, otherwise you'd REACT into throttling her neck until she's lifeless!

I THINK Scientology takes exception to being REACTIVELY attacked rather than discussing theoretical points with specific members who are capable of answering your questions. There's a difference between blind attack and negotiating an understanding. It's the difference between war and peace.

I've lived in Clearwater for 25 years and I can say that for the number of times I've butted heads with these guys, for the most part they've handled questions or confusions I had. I'm not saying they're perfect, but at least I'm not at a point where I'm just attacking in some random direction, just for the sake of attacking something I don't agree with. There's a peaceful co-existence.

Anyway. That's been my experience.

I love KT. He is absolutely a genius.

I see there is more internet arguements. If you guys are interested. I was raised in a LDS religion and I thought it was awesome. LDS people are always happy, but some of what the mormons do. I do not agree with. After reading KT's book I was interested in sciencetology. I was very skepitcal, but open minded. From what the sciencetologist explained to me. It made lots of sense. I would actually join sciencetology then the LDS church. But people here are against it from what they heard in heavy media and friends. What really intrigued me about sciencetology is that there rehab "Narconon" (something like that) has a 80% success rate. Thats amazing to me. Most rehabs have less then 10% success rates.

I just wanted to make a point to say. I really don't see that much arguing going on in this community. I really enjoy reading peoples opinions and thoughts about things. Whether they happen to echo my own and sometimes even more when they don't. It helps me to understand other viewpoints and it helps me to constantly monitor my own belief system. I hope I never get to a place in my life where I am unwilling to "discuss" sensitive issues with people because of fear of criticism or ridicule. I want to always have the desire to explore other "ideas" and the freedom to accept them or discard whatever may be the case. I love talking to people in this forum. I think you're all great, even the ones I don't agree with(LOL)

How bout this. How about comparing the amount of good a person has done compared to negetive.KT good far outways his negetive. I read somewhere that he ripped off some of his mega memory customers. He went into a bank and posed as a doctor and cashed a bunch of fake checks. He started a pyramid organization called nutrition for life where his members payed thousands to join and got shut down. Plus he used to work for the drug companies. Had he not worked for the bad guys he wouldn't have had as much information to use against them. I think he's done alot more good since he left the brotherhood. Another example. O J simpson killed his wife in cold blood. But he has povided millions of men around the world hours of happiness by giving us the oportunity to laugh and make jokes about it. Every time i think about it and listin to comedians talk about it and watch robot chicken do skits on it, it makes my life on earth alot more bearable. Maybe because i'm a young man and i agree with him. Even hulk hogans making jokes about it. Somebody ask him if he had thought about killing his wife and his response was "I'll take the high road". I think its pretty fun that in this day and age not killing your wife is taking the high road.
Another example. R Kelly. Slept with an underage girl and peed on her. A horrable thing. But he has also provided millions of people around the world hours of laughter in being able to talk about it.Laughter is the cheapest easiest natural cure to come by. They could have kicked me out of the navy for being fat but my chain of command didn't because i made people laugh. Riley from the cartoon boondocks said " At some point personal responsibility has to come into play, If i see pee i move out the way, see seen pee and she stayed" . I could talk about this all day. The point i'm trying to make is that when judging anybody its important to compare the good they've done to evil they've done. Taesu Chon What is an LDS religion?

Have I morphed into an alternate lower level dimension ? Did I actually just read that ?
Well hey, the comedians used Jeffery Dommer for material too. Lets all give Jeffrey a big hand of applause for the laughter !

You know, I really don't understand why people find this so funny. If the thought of someone being brutally murdered made millions of men happy, they're either on Prozac or real sickos!

Um, yea. What's wrong w/people. That's sick. That's a "view point" I don't want to hear. I felt sick to my stomach for weeks, listening to that stuff on the news. Just because you do something "good" doesn't erase the consequences of what you have done that was "bad" There's nothing funny about the suffering of other people.
