Im gonna attempt to do all raw for our family this thanksgiving here at my house EXCEPT for the turkey! Im gonna do turkey.....gotta do turkey. It's gonna be an organic turkey though!LOL! If anyone comes across some GREAT RAW recipes for thanksgiving and christmas let me know. Give me some good ideas!
YEah should be fun! Oh....by the beach would be AWESOME and out of the box! I like doing things like that. YEah....im not quite a vegetarian but I have cut back my meat consumption alot and only eat some turkey now and then, chicken or fish. Im getting there though!
I didn't realize how addicted I was to meat until I started cutting back. Everytime I try to cut cold turkey....I get very weakly. Probally a cleansing phase but like you said....it's HARD! I too have given up beef and maybe once in a blue moon I might have a small portion of organic, grassfed beef but rarely. Giving up fish would be the hardest for me since I LOVE fish! I grew up eating fish since my dad took us fishing all the time. Atleast it was fresh fish from fresh waters and not the farm raised crap of today. Are you planning on going totally RAW?
That is AWESOME that you are going totally RAW! That's my end goal.....to be 100% RAW someday. Right now....I have so much going against me. For one...I don't have any support and when I do it's shortlived. I figured I should start with a short term goal like maybe 50% and build on that. Going slow works better for me. But like you said....there's so much proof that it's THE best way to eat. The people I have seen that are true Raw foodists like INCREDIBLE and I envy there passion and strength to do that. Im working on eliminating meat from my diet permanently FIRST and then work on adding more and more RAW. I think that's GREAT you are not gonna put a cooker in. That's definately a sign that you are ready to take that step to 100%. You inspire me! Thanks
That is a fantastic idea! I can give you some recipes. I just went to a raw class last week. They had a cabbage salad that was awesome! The class before that also had a key lime pie that was just fantastic. It was made of many avocadoes. It tastes just like key lime. It was fantastic. I'll look in the next couple of days and try to get a couple recipes.
IT should be fun! Im excited to hear some recipes so post some when you get a chance. I've been to several raw food seminars so far and im learning so much. It makes going RAW easier when you have some good recipes under your belt. I did RAW pumpkin pie last year and it turned out GREAT! The key lime sounds divine!

Fantastic idea! Let me know how yours turns out. I couldn't give up the turkey either!!! How about red bell peppers stuffed with sunflower pate? I usually use a rice stuffing but this one is raw. 1 C soaked raw sunflower seeds, 2 TBSP water, 1 TBSP minced onion, 1 TBSP fresh lemon juice, 2 tsp minced fresh dill weed or basil, 1 clove crushed garlic, dash salt & pepper. Process sunflower seeds & water into a paste & stir in remaining ingredients. 1/2 or 1/4 red peppers (depending on size) & fill with stuffing.
Oh that sounds so good! IT's so good to hear from you by the way. How did the Body ecology diet work out for you. Im gonna put this recipe down on my list. If I can find a good replacement for the turkey.....then im willing to let it go!LOL!
I thought this was interesting. I was reading a book. It discussed how many people when given transplants took on the personalities of the donor. In the book it also said that a man that was from a tribe that used to be cannibals explained if they didn't boil human meat for a certain length of time, it was said those who ate of it could take on the personality of the one being cooked.
The book then went on to say "I wonder if this would have any affect on those eating other raw meats". Perhaps it is best to cook the turkey (smile).
Too funny! I do know people who eat raw meat but it ain't for me! I have done raw eggs before though. LOL! I should have been more specific about the turkey.
Here's one I found for stuffing! I LOVE stuffing. This is a RAW version of course!
hazelnut sage stuffing
4-6
this is going to be amazing for thanksgiving! i just came up with this today! would also make a great zucchini stuffing.
Ingredients
1 cup hazelnuts, ground
1 cup flax seeds, ground
3 stalks of celery
half an onion
half of a carrot
7 sage leaves
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon himalayan pink crytsal salt
3 dashes black pepper
2 teaspoons nutritional yeast
Preparation
get the nuts and seeds ground up, should be like flour. i use a coffee grinder. put everything else in a food processor. mix it all up and then dehydrate for 6-8 hours, depending on how soft you want it.
FOR 100% RAW, leave out the nutritional yeast and pepper (i’m not sure about the pepper)
