I have tried Herbatint and couldnt get my roots as light as the rest of my hair and I used the lightest color. I am thinking of trying Tints of Nature. Has anyone used this brand or recommend any other brands for light blondes because I hate my natural hair color!!!!

I use Tints of Nature. I really like it. I have medium brown hair, though. A lot of people comment to me about the color of my hair. I'm sure you will like it . It's a great brand.

It lasts a long time. I'm not sure of exactly how long but I color my hair about every two months. I don't even notice any fading of it. I don't even use a special shampoo for color treated hair. It's really great. I just found a conditioner that seems really great too. It's called 'Yes to Cucumbers' I found it at Walgreens. It says it contains 99.6% natural ingredients. I used it yesterday for the first time, put my hair in rollers to dry, and last night my hair was the softest I have ever felt it. I usually blow dry my hair alittle but my hair dryer broke. I don't think it was because I didn't use the dryer although I'm sure that helped.

Dawn,
There's an awesome conditioner by Aubrey Organics. Its called Island Naturals. You leave it on for 15 minutes. I only left it on for 5 minutes and liked what I saw. It tames fly aways and makes your hair look so soft and silky without weighing it down. It has a spicy scent. Yum! :]

Yeah aubreys definately looks better, only problem is I cannot seem to find blonde. ANYWHERE.

Yeah my problem too. They only make the 2 dark colors. I think I will try the brown for my lo-lights and still get my hi-lights.

I bought some Herbatint, and am trying to decide whether to use it or not. My hairdresser does a really good job on my haircolor, but I don't like all the chemicals I'm sure are involved from just a regular salon, and want to use something less toxic. My roots have grown out about 2 inches and have about 50% gray, the rest is still holding its salon color really well, a medium brown. My hair is getting quite long, as I'm trying to grow it long. I've also found that soaking my hair in olive oil has really helped retain the color as well as moisture, thus no split ends. I've read the ingredients as to whats in Herbatint, but it's like reading a foreign language, so can anyone tell me if there are any toxic harsh chemicals in it

You can look on here and see what it is rated. I looked it up and the EWG gives them a score of 6. There are so many toxic chemicals in here I would not use this on my hair (especially right now b/c I am pregnant).

The Aubreys got a rating on 0.

It's hard because it is your hair and you want to look good of course!! You just have to do the research and decide what is best for you.

The EWG website www.ewg.org is a great place to start to look at all different ratings.
