Is there anyone on here who has RA and has also done hcg? I've done 4 rounds of hcg and each time my RA symptoms go completely away after the third day of injections. I used to think it was the hormone hcg that was making the symptoms go away, but now I'm not so sure. You see when you do the hcg you can't consume any dairy for the entire time you're doing hcg. Which has now got me thinking that maybe there is a connection. I stopped consuming all dairy on Mon, Nov. 24 so it's way too soon to tell. I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there with RA and who has stopped consuming dairy and found their pain goes away. Also, what foods should I be eating now to get my calcium? I think I've heard broccoli and kale has calcium in it, but what else can I eat.
Thanks, Sandy, for the information. I've put it in my mind to stop all dairy and gluten for one month. Today it has been five days free of those two things and I do feel better. I have also decided to get a food allergy test done so I will know once and for all what to avoid. The list you gave has a lot of suggestions, but I'm the type who has to take baby steps so that's why I'm only eliminating dairy and gluten for now. I can't imagine that the cure to RA could be as simple as avoiding dairy. The disease just seems more complicated than that. I guess I would also be really angry if it was as simple as avoiding dairy because I could have avoided 8 years of senseless pain. I will definitely read your post on RA. Thanks again. Really appreciate your help and you do seem very knowledgeable.
Hi, Charles, okay, so I have a weakness in my endocrine system. Wow, never heard this before. I will probably have to google endocrine because I really don't even know what that is. I don't think hcg is curing my RA either. I think you're right and it's symptomatic relief only. But do you think it would hurt me to continue to use hcg let's say four times a year so that I can feel pain free? I would use it during holidays or vacations when I would want to feel good. Or do you think that this could harm me in some way by using hcg four times a year? It's hard for me not to want to use hcg again because going from pain free to chronic pain is depressing and I know that all it takes for me to be pain free is to inject hcg and within three days I will be 100 percent pain free.
That's right Charlie, HCG is a hormone. The fact is that it is created in the embryonic fluid, and the unborn child soaks it in through the skin for about 9 months. The unborn child is actually exposed to over 10,000IU per day during the 9 months (including you). No one ever produces HCG except pregnant women, and a few rare cases when women have a disease that triggers the manufacturing of HCG without being pregnant (very rare). The HCG protocol is only a few hundred IUs per day. I personally took 250IUs per day, and I lost over 110lbs.
My question is since you think it is unnatural to restore HCG to the human body, was it natural for the food and drug corporations to devise ways to remove HCG from our bodies?
The fact is that if corporations did not tamper with our food with toxins and genetically modifying our food, then we really wouldn't have a need for taking HCG. It is the unnatural processes that the corporations have done that has required the hormone therapy. This is far different than naturally lacking enough to digestive enzymes to digest meat and dairy. The fact is that people who eat meat and dairy have to take supplemental enzymes (which is not natural) in order to digest it. Those who eat meat and dairy also have to worry about getting a clogged colon, which then means getting an enema or colonic from time to time.
I'm kind of sad that the discussions go off the topic which was RA and dairy. It started out with great info from Sandy and now I see she has taken it all down. I wish we could just stick with what the original question is and not get off on tangents.
I do have RA but currently off all meds. After seeing a naturopath four years ago I started an elimination diet. In the beginning, I eliminated a lot. Each person is different, but I have found that if I totally eliminate gluten (wheat, rye, and barley), coffee and dairy from my diet and significantly reduce sugar, I feel so much better. I have also found the way I handle stress contributes. Anyhow, on the dairy topic, once you have eliminated it for several months and then try some, your body will probably tell you whether or not it will accept it again. My stomach gets upset if i try eating yogurt or a glass of milk. For calcium, I make broths using bones, eat lots of veggies high in calcium and add bone supplement to baked goods. Good luck.
Thanks, Cateepoo, I was starting to think I was the only person with RA here on CC. I will continue not consuming dairy. Today is day 7 and I feel really good. I don't currently have any symptoms of RA, but that doesn't mean too much as you probably know. I could get a flare-up at any time. If it rains here I could get a flare-up. Anyhow being pain free for 7 days does feels so nice. I feel like a normal person does. I don't currently have a naturopath and I suppose that would be a good idea for me too. Thanks again.
You're welcome. It is always nice to connect with others who are going through this. Life can be a challenge when you don't know when your next flare-up will occur. I am glad you have had seven good days!!!! I hope the "normal" feeling continues.
I don't think it is JUST dairy that causes RA symptoms to reduce. Each person has unique intolerances to foods and it is a matter of finding those intolerances and eliminating them. In my four year search, I have found dairy, gluten, sugar, processed foods, wine and coffee to be offenders to my body. When I consume them now, I pay a price of stiff and swollen joints. Also, I have learned that stress and the way I handle it affects my joints. I tend to hold my stress in my body instead of letting it go. There are many things to investigate but baby steps is a good way to get there. Our bodies are really amazing things and when we give them a chance to survive without foods that harm them or pressure from stress, they do amazingly well.
Well, unfortunately I've heard that Sandy got kicked off this site. She did have some very good advice for me which I printed before she left. Maybe I can somehow figure out how to put it back up here. I have now gone 17 days without dairy and still am pain-free. I don't know if this a coincidence or not. I guess I still need more time to determine that.
Linda, what information are you looking for? I can get it from Sandy for you. Sandy is my wife. It's not a coincidence. Dairy is not good for people. Neither is eating meat. In Victoria Boutenko's book "Green For Life", we learned that eating 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of cooked meat has the same carcinogen content as smoking 800 cigarettes!
You can actually get calcium from dandelion leaves, just make sure they weren't sprayed with any chemicals first of course. They actually have more calcium than milk does... a lot more!
You should join The Cure For Cancer group that I started. It has the answers to cure any disease there.
I too have RA and recently completed HCG. The good news is I am down 70 lbs. the bad news is I am having an RA flare. I am wondering about the connection between RA & HCG. Obviously the diet changes are huge and could be a contributing factor. It has been several months since this discussion started. How has it gone with stopping the dairy? Any thoughts about the HCG connection? Other diet suspects?
