Is there anyone on here who has RA and has also done hcg? I've done 4 rounds of hcg and each time my RA symptoms go completely away after the third day of injections. I used to think it was the hormone hcg that was making the symptoms go away, but now I'm not so sure. You see when you do the hcg you can't consume any dairy for the entire time you're doing hcg. Which has now got me thinking that maybe there is a connection. I stopped consuming all dairy on Mon, Nov. 24 so it's way too soon to tell. I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there with RA and who has stopped consuming dairy and found their pain goes away. Also, what foods should I be eating now to get my calcium? I think I've heard broccoli and kale has calcium in it, but what else can I eat.
Hi, Susan, there is a connection somewhere between doing phase 2 of hcg and being pain-free from RA. Now, I don't know if the connection is the hcg itself or is it because I'm not consuming dairy for 40-some days or is it a combination or is it because I'm eating only fruits, veggies and protein? All I know is that I feel absolutely no pain while doing hcg and sticking with only the foods recommended for phase 2.
I'm doing a candida cleanse right now and that might be helping me too. Maybe my RA is yeast-related.
All I can tell you for 100 percent is that from 1999-2005 I was in huge amounts of pain, taking 14 prescribed pills per day, not involved in life, depressed ....... Then in August of 2005 read KT's book and that started my quest for better health. I read and read and read everything I could get my hands on and I tried all kinds of supplements, eating organic living foods, nothing from boxes or cans or jars and today I don't take any prescribed pills and I'm working again and doing everything I did before I got diagnosed with RA. I weight lift, I jump on our trampoline, I ride my bike...... It's amazing that food healed me. No one would ever know I had RA unless I told them. I no longer limp anymore, I don't need help buttoning my jeans or doing those little tedious things that my fingers couldn't do before. It's a miracle. And I thank KT from the bottom of my heart for writing his book.
Hi Linda,
Are you doing HCG and the diet right now? Or are you saying you are eating the same foods that are on the diet and feeling good?
I felt good while on HCG and following the diet. When I stopped, I started to flare. I am thinking very seriously about starting the diet again for one month, then when I stop, only add back one food at a time. I am hoping that the HCG speeds up my feeling better and then using it as a starting point as a modified elimination diet to see if it is the foods I am reacting to. I probably need to put a week in there of following the diet without the HCG as well.
Your dairy theory is interesting.
Glad to hear you are doing so well no matter what the reason!
Hi, Susan, right now I'm not doing hcg and/or eating phase 2 foods. I have never been able to eat p2 foods without doing hcg. Maybe I should try this with you and only eat phase 2 foods for one week and see if I'm 100 percent painfree for that week. Then I would know if it's the hcg or it's the food that is helping me. I will have to go to the store today and get only phase 2 foods and I will start tomorrow, Sunday, May 17 and eat only phase 2 foods and finally see once and for all what it is that helps me.
I wrote above that I had 2 cups of milk, well that did cause some RA pain in my left hand yesterday. The pain was only there and in my palm of all places. It just ached all day, so I really think for me I have a sensitivity to milk products.
I think your idea of an elimination diet is the only way for you to truly know what foods you're sensitive to. Hopefully you're sensitive to something you don't crave, but I've been reading a lot and the foods that you crave are usually the foods that you then become allergic to or sensitive to. If I want dairy now I should only have one serving of it all day and then don't have it for another four days. That's what this book says that I'm reading right now.
Stay in touch. It's sure nice to have someone who I can relate to. By the way your name is very familiar, why would I know that name?
