Should i listen to John Stossel? Is he credible or is he one the bad guys?
I like watching John Stossel from 20/20 on youtube. He seems like a really "keepin it real" straight up guy. He seems to ask the questions that all of us want to ask but aren't able to. I agree with almost every thing i've heard him say. He critisizes government officails and makes fun of polititions on a regualar basis. where he discredits kt and makes him seem like a fraud. John Stossel says that millions of people are delusional and seem to want to believe that the drug companies are in a conspiracy. (which they are) I was watching sicko last night. If we had socailized health care there would be no incentive from drug companies to do all the stuff their doing. Is he credible or is he a hero in Disguise? Is he just another brainwashing tool?

Che. The thing is, what Kevin says is backed up with evidence and facts. Honestly, I think that guy you are talking about is talking out his ass. You have to remember that mainstream media....20/20 is biased and told what they can say. Remember, everyone is trying to discredit what Kevin says. Maybe this guy was offered large financial benefit to talk bad about Kevin. You have to remember, the stuff Kevin talks about is not stuff he just pulled out of his pooper. It is actual information from doctors around the world who are using these means with great success. The conspiracy stuff Kevin exposes is evident too. Come on Che, you are smarter than that. You know KT is da man.

I know KT is the man. I was just suprised to see it. It seems like everything else he talks about is truthfull. I believed everything else i heard from him but now i'm wondering what else he's lying about. Yeah. I guess your right. He nothing more than an entertainer. Its just sad when somebody you look up to turns into a douche bag. And i don't mean anything having to do with enema's.

Kevin Trudeau is a fraud. I have read his book--which is extremely poorly written and cited. If you look at any of his statistics, facts, ect (besides the recommendations that are already common sense), they do not have a lot of substance to them. When you investigate further, you will find nothing, because he makes it up.
The question I have for you guys: Why would doctors prescribe you medication if they truly felt it were doing you harm? Don't you think that they would stop their families and friends and THEMSELVES from taking it?
Please do not give me the standard "Doctors do not know any better than that. They are taught to think that way." If you do want to respond with that answer, please check a medical school curriculum and research the classes that they take. Better yet, audit a first year medical class. Physiology, unlike Kevin suggests in his book "The Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You To Know About," is taught multiple times via many classes and instructors. Anatomy, histology, pathology, and MUCH MORE--all have to deal with the normal and the abnormal that can occur in a person. In medical school, often times natural remedies are brought up. Pros and cons are discussed, and the same is true for drugs. Medical school does not just promote drugs; instead it teaches its students the dangers of each as well. Holistic health care is becoming a hot topic in the medical community.
Now, I think that there is definitely a place for natural medicine. However, it is important to remember that natural does not always mean safe. If it did, why would we break out from poison ivy or die from snakebites?

Answer: Its their job. If they don't they lose money. If they use anything else they can lose their medical license. The FDA mandated that only a drug can cure treat or prevent disease. The reason drugs got popular is becuase they work fast. Natural cures take forever. Most drugs have to be taken for years before the side effects become noticable. For most drugs the side effects don't become noticable until people are in their senior years and then most of their problems just get blamed on old age. I don't see very many holistic medicine practioners owning yachts. I don't see very many shows like HOUSE being made about acupunturist and chiorpractors. My step mom didn't try to brain wash me into becoming an herbalist.

Answer: They probably do stop themselves and their families from taking drugs. Most doctors are highly educated and think there better than everyone else. The only reason most doctors go into their field is either because there parents pushed them into it or they want to make lots of money or they want the socail status of being called a doctor. Like i said. The side effects take forever to become noticable and they usaully get blamed on old age.
My question to you: If soooo many people in college learn about holistic health, Why are we the fattest,sickest, country in the whole world? What if you don't make it so college? How are you supposed to learn about holistic health? Why do all government facilities only serve gentically modified food? Why does the military not allow or educate people about holistic medicine? Im more natural cures KT listen at least 20 different types of doctors who don't use drugs and surgery. Why don't they teach this stuff in high schools? KT is not a quack.
If medical schools teach holistic health, Why aren't doctors using it? What does Anatomy, histology, pathology or physiology have to do with anything? What all of us are trying to accomplish is looking good and feeling good. All of that stuff you just mentioned doesn't mean squat. The reason why i can't see my male anatomy when i look down isn't because of my lack of knowledge in Anatomy, histology, pathology or physiology. Its becuase of all the crap there putting in our food and water and because the drugs their perscribing us are making it worse. Have you seen Kevin Trudeau. He's in his 70's and he looks like he's in his 40's. Most people in their 70's look like their dying.
The reason its called POISEN IVY is because people break out from it. (I don't because i'm immune to it) I think your guys immune systems just suck. The reason people die from snakebites is because poison flows from inside of their teeth and into your body. That is how snakes defend themselves against predetors. Same with scorpions. If you were to get bitten by a black widow the antidote that they would use to keep you alive is made from snake venom. The only thing else i need to say is BOOMSHAKALA!!!. IN YOUR FACE!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

The reason he looks like he's in his 40's is because he IS in his 40's.
But to his credit I will say that when I saw him at a Chicago health convention roughly two years ago, he looked more in his late 30's than late 40's.

The people who are frauds are the people who released the pharmeucutical drug, VIOXX, to the general public. VIOXX, killed tens of thousands of Americans and was pulled from the market. Those are the people who are FRAUDS. Why don't you preach your benefits of allopathic medicine to the families of all of the people who died from taking Vioxx? Why don't you preach your benefits of allopathic medicine to people who's relatives are six feet under from taking a drug? My own Mother was one of the victims. Luckily, she didn't die from taking it. But she was mamed for life.

Because pharmecutical drugs are the tools of their profession. They are required to prescribe them. There are many Doctors who write prescriptions by day, and practice alternative medicine for themselves and their families by night. Happens all the time.
Regarding: Medical school does not just promote drugs; instead it teaches its students the dangers of each as well.
The New York Times reported recently about medical students at Harvard University complaining about professors having ties to the pharmecutical industry. Their complaints were about the professors being biased because of their ties to pharmecutical companies. Check out the article in the NYT. It was a few months ago.
Regarding: Holistic health care is becoming a hot topic in the medical community.
The key word there is BECOMING. It hasn't been. It just is now.
The debate isn't about one vs. the other, anyway. That is not what the debate is about. Kevin Trudeau never said allopathic medicine is worthless. He never said that in any of his books. You are misinterpreting what he said in the book in the first place.

I'd say that the makers of Vioxx made a huge mistake and that I was sorry for their loss. I'm not an expert on the case and I don't have time to research it.
Isn't that a good thing that students are asking that their professors not be tied to pharmaceuticals? That they are in fact thinking for themselves and have an interest in an unbiased education? Another improvement that is going on in the medical field. The same thing is actually happening in offices--many are banning anything in the form of gifts from pharmaceutical sales reps, and some are no longer allowing them at all.
However, that is one school and although there are probably others, it does not necessarily mean it is the case for every single medical school.
I certainly don't think that medicine is perfect where it is, nor do I believe that all drugs are wonderful and will cure you instantly. If I gave you that impression, I apologize (it's just difficult to appear to be down the middle when you can get such a better debate going--and learn a lot more--if you play devil's advocate a little more than you maybe normally would).

I believe that maker of any drug make too many mistake and death. If ten people died from herb, they get media attention. But it take over thousand death to get media attention for maker of drugs such as Vioxx. I believe it just politic as usual. Drug industry has politician and lobby on their side. I think maker of herbs and supplement should pull in together and get their politician and lobby into government office
