I think there should be a spirituality tab to add topics to. I'm interested in what religions or non-religions people here practice. It seems essential to health to be spiritually healthy, as well as physically and emotionlly. I'm kind of at a cross-roads in figuring out how to go about that. Please share (without arguments here) what you believe to be a fulfilling spiritual life.

Ok, that makes sense. Here are a few questions tho.
Aren't the nation's leading Pastors those who are generally in the public eye and well known? And in your opinion, exactly how did you come to the conclusion that the Pastors you learned from are the best? Isn't it quite possible that there might be better Pastors out there that are NOT well known or always in the public eye?
Isn't it true that the Pastors that you refer to and learn from are pretty well to do financially?
And finally, would you stake your life on the fact that some of these same people aren't just doing what they do for the money?

The more I see and learn about the world that was, and the world that is, the more apparent it is to me, that religion was indeed man-made, then just put into storybook writings.

"And one more thing Tim, if it were YOUR young son who died needlessly, I seriously doubt that you would be saying, "is that so bad?'"

Bobby:

You're kinda missing the point, dude. Sure there's a grieving period. His body died but he's not gone. Not permanently, anyway.

The quicker you realize that, the faster you bounce back.

"If I find out any different after I die, then I'll be a spirit, and I'll come back and let you all know."

Surely you don't think there are thousands of documented cases of those who already have? Why would anybody here want your attestation in 50 years? (we would already have moved on by then! LOL)

I want to expand on my earlier reply by telling a story:

Back in 1983, I was in California at a hotel restaurant. I enjoyed my meal and went to the cashier to pay for it. I was 23.

There was an elderly woman at the register (in her 60's), who looked VERY familiar to me. She thought the same thing, and said so. There was a definite "HEY, I KNOW YOU!" between us both. It was almost electric.

We both stood there, facing each other, and started comparing places we both have been: She lived in Chicago most of her life (where I never have been) before moving to Calif. She's never been to Canada. Until that trip, I've never been in the States. We gave up after a while, not finding a common place where we could have met.

But I know we were friends at one time. We both felt that familiarity.

I'm sure I am not the only person that's ever experienced that.

Yes, that's happened to me a couple of times. I would call it either a bit of random phenomena or simply a coincidence....
I don't believe that there is anything paranormal or spiritual about it...

I know you don't. It's easier to explain "unexplainable" by saying it's "random phenomena" or "coincidence", isn't it?

Kinda like blaming an unexplainable on "God's Will" only you're calling it "random phenomena" which is still no rational explanation in my books.

Caveman sees the moon and starts throwing stones at it.

That's just plain violent on the Caveman's part.
Did God tell him to act violently too?...lol

The point is superstition, bro.

Saying something happens because of "random phenomena" (or luck) makes about as much sense.
