I'm a little bit freaked out right now about what happened to me this morning. I was sitting on the toilet doing my thing when all of a sudden i had some kind of a fainting episode. What I vaguely remember is getting this tingling sensation throughout my body, feeling my body clench up while losing control of all my muscles, slowly losing my vision and consciousness, and sliding off the side of the toilet toward the floor and banging my head on the wall. I then gained full consciousness and control of my body and realized that I was lying on the floor next to the toilet in the fetal position. Everything was fine after that, but I was completely confuzed about what had happened. I don't think I completely blacked out during this experience, but the whole thing is pretty hazy in my memory, in bits and pieces. I just remember it being something that I slowly faded into, and then slowly faded out of.

I do have a history of panic attacks over the past few years, which usually involved tingling sensations, loss of phyical and emotional control, heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, etc. but never experienced a loss of consciousness like this before. The strange thing is that I was breathing normally and my heart was beating normally afterward, which is completely the opposite of any panic attack i've experienced.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before, or have any idea what happened to me and why?

Charlie:

If you get that right, you should join the circus and make a living guessing people's weight.

With your skills, that's should be easy money.

Charles,

I'm not sure about my blood pressure (not something I check regularily), and my energy levels are usually dependent on the amount of sleep i've been getting. If I'm well rested my energy levels are high, and vice versa. You are correct about everything else: 28 years old, thin (150 lbs), sluggish bowels.

Also, this was the morning after Thanksgiving...a day in which I probably doubled my usual calorie intake. I suppose an extreme change in diet for 1 day could cause a person's body to react in unusual ways.

You should make sure you have adequate magnesium. If you have a sloppy digestive symptom then set about cleaning and toneing it as well as the liver to make sure you are able to absorb the nutrients you take.

I don't completely remember, but I think I was bearing down.

Thanks for sharing your stories.

I did reply to your questions - my response is shown above.

Would it be too much for me to ask for your opinion on what you think is wrong? I completely understand why you wouldn't want to dish out the "fix" for free on here.

Not trying to start an argument here...
But do you go around to everyone's discussions posting these "i'm an experienced herbalist who has all the answers but i'm not going to tell you anything" responses? Seems like a waste of time to me, and not really helpful to anyone. I thought the point of this web site is to share health tips with others, as a community, with a free-flow of information about alternative medicine? In regards to the "soliciting policy"...when other people mentioned that I might be low on potassium or magnesium, were those people soliciting information to me, therefore going against the website's policy? I'm a little confused about the whole thing. Hope those people don't get kicked off the site for sharing their opinions with me.

Charles - thanks for the response and for clearing up the misunderstanding.

This issue has only happened once (last Friday morning) and hasn't happened again, so I'm not too concerned about it at this point. Regardless, I appreciate everything that everyone has posted in this discussion.

Thanks all,
Keith
Keith - sounds like an ordinary feint to me. And by that I mean that I feint a lot, and it's never an issue - but for me in particular, I feint when I see "gory" things, like I can't watch a horror on TV, have trouble visiting people in the hospital etc. The main thing to do when you feel like you may feint is make sure you won't bang your head on anything as you go down to the floor. Also, you can try putting your head between your knees and that will sometimes stave it off. Now, oddly enough when you come to from a feint, you should feel revived and refreshed. I know this may sound weird to you, but having more than 200 feints under my belt I know about this stuff. There could be something medically wrong, so please do get that checked out. I have been checked 10 ways to Sunday including doing a sleep deprivation test, having electrodes hooked up all over my head, CAT scans, MRIs etc etc then on the natural side have been to Chinese doctos, had accupunture, taken a million different natural remedies, and nothing helps. But since I am so used to it, it doesn't really bother me, and I know what to do to try to stop a feint from happening, and also how to avoid situtions where I might feint. Oh - also I feint if I hurt myself, which is a good thing because when you have feinted you can't feel anything, and being the klutz I am the feiting comes in handy :). Hope this helps in that it may not be anything too serious, but please do get checked out.
