WELLNESS DOG/CAT FOOD?

No, I haven't tried it, but reading the online material, it seems to be better than the average pet food... but doesn't say it's organic.

Personally, I feed my dog Organix. She doesn't eat as much and has the energy of a ball of fire on rocket fuel.

Yes, this is what I buy. It's a small-enough bag that I can put it in a cupboard (I have a small dog, a Papillon): 6 lbs. The bags come in larger quantities but I don't know what they are, off the top of my head.

No it's not a problem. We don't have a Petco around here neither, so far as I know. I buy Organix at our local health food store in the pet aisle. I just happened to find the product info on a Petco page to illustrate what it is that I do buy. ;)

thanks tim, i have 2 big, hungry dogs...lol...i need a big bag...i'll have to check our health store. but i have never seen big bags? maybe she would order it?? it's worth a try.......................................

I don't see why your HFS wouldn't order it! If they have a regular customer base for the product, they'll keep it in stock.

I'm sure your doggies love it. :)

My dog probably eats better than I do. hehe

You should feed your pets what they would naturally eat. What about raw meat for cats and dogs? There is a brand of cat and dog food called "Raw Advantage", but when you realize they are basically selling ground beef and chicken for $10/lb then you might just want to get them ground beef and chicken from the store.

i will ask my next visit to HFS tim...yes our animals do eat good to...they are spoiled and very loved....:) i also have 3 hungry cats....lol......

i would love to feed them all a raw diet SteveSega but we just can't afford it....i need to go resonable cheap...everything is so expensive and it cost so much just for the family to try and eat healthy and organic...........

Steve has a good idea. What I have done is buy chicken livers and kidneys (also known as "giblets"), cut them up and put them in the dog's bowl. She LOVES them and they're fairly inexpensive.

But I do that was a treat, not as part of her regular diet.

You're right: grass-fed beef (at $7/lb!!) or cage-free chicken or turkey on its own would just cost too much!

When I said they probably eat better than me, I didn't mean I shouldn't eat at all! LOL

If I still fed my pets kibble, I'd consider Organix. I've seen the Wellness, but don't know much about it. However, since my 2 dogs & 1 cat have been 100% raw now for a year and a half, it's kind of moot on my end. I've used a little bit of the Raw Advantage, but it's just too pricey. I currently use several different raw foods: Majestic Raw Beef by AFS, Raw Chicken Backs/Necks by Primal, Raw Organic Chicken medallions by Nature's Variety (for my cat), Raw Lamb Bones by Nature's Variety, Raw Turkey and/or Beef Patties by Bravo, and Raw Veggies by Bravo.
