gota question... (and i'm open to replies from just about anybody)...
if going to a doctor (which, in my experience) does little to nothing for a person trying to re-establish their health, and return their PH to normal; where would be a good place to go in order to find the TRUTH of the matter (and i ask this because there is so many different types of professionals that i have heard of since beginning my search ie: homeopaths, naturopaths, chiropractors, nutritionists, etc...)?
since we are a one income family, and i have had concerns about both my son's and my own health; i would appreciate any feedback i could get that would mean seeing as few people as possible, for as little $$ as possible, and, most of all, someone who actually has my family's best interests at heart.
Ezmee----if you use a good whole food with the probotics in it do you think it is necessary to use other or more probotics ?? Not all are the same and I have yet to run across anything that says just how much of this a person should take. I did start using Vit D-3 along with the powder I drink in the mornings. I still have not gotten the flax or fish oil since the powder drink says it has the daily allowance of that stuff in it. Not sure if I should use more or not. I bought the oregano but have yet to get past the smell--let alone get it in my mouth ha ha

has anyone wondered if any of what we're all doing is going to help? I'd like to see a study someday on if people who eat organic, etc live longer, healthier lives than the people who don't eat organic and are living to be 108? what's the difference?
Tara. I think that there are MANY people who think so much about every little thing they eat and drink, that it causes undue stress which is probably causing most of their symptoms of whatever they think is wrong with them.
LOL.....It's almost funny to watch it all....If people just ate MOST of the things they should be eating and eat some of the things that aren't "as good" for us, IN MODERATION, and not WORRY so damn much about everything in between, they'd be surprised at how healthy they would be.....Most of this is a big joke, and of course, that's MY opinion.
Tim----I sure gave up on trying to be perfect on that !!! I do what I can and if I am craving me a snickers I will go buy one with the dark choc. and eat it. Besides--I can not afford to eat the way a lot of people on here can but I do try to do my best to stay away from a lot of the things I use to eat. I did buy a bag of potato chips over the holidays. Thought to myself--I can have a few of those with a sandwich--well that was a big mistake. I could hear that bag of chips calling me from in the cupboard so went to shut it up--and I did !!! I just sat down--ate what was left in the bag and that was that. Not buying any more. I never really craved chips till I bought them. I am trying to take Bobby's approach and not worry so much about everything--do what I can most of the time and if I go some place I will eat a very small bit of something that I know I should not eat. I don't beat myself up for it either.
Hey Vic,,,,here's what I do when I crave something like chips or fritos,,,,I buy one of those tiny bags for like 29 cents,,,,In the end, it costs a little more, but you eat ALOT less,,,,,and I do NOT buy them very often. Only when I have a craving.
I have done that too but this time I just grabbed a regular sized bag. I am pretty good about takeing a few out and putting them on my plate and that is it. Only thing is--I have them more often then. No idea what got into me that one nite. What with Thanksgiving and then Christmas, I think my taste buds really got off wack. My oldest son was here over Christmas and he thought my so called diet was stupid. He said--How long do you want to live anyway?? long enough to so we can put you in a nursing home ?? I told him that with my luck that would be a lot sooner than later if I did not watch my cholostrol and other things. Besides---I really do feel better and have more engery when I don't eat all that junk. He just shook his head. At 40 he thinks he knows best and like his Dad, says he would rather go out young and happy than old and miserable. His Dad died at 46 with a heart attack but then he had a bad heart anyway and should have been eating better--probably would have been around to see his grandkids.

Ok, now don't get me wrong. I do eat about 98% organic.
BUT
Once in a blue moon, I might have an itch for a Pepsi. In 2008, I think I've only had 2 during the whole year. I mean, c'mon. We're not talking a steady diet of Pepsis or even "when the urge hits me" (because it doesn't hit me often). But I'm not going to die from it and I'm not going to feel bad about it. Ya know?
If I snack on a junk food (and again, it's hardly ever), I look for something with no sugar, no MSG or artifical doodads. Like Lays Plain Potato Chips. Or air-popped popcorn. I think I'll live. As a matter of fact, I'm sure I will.
I don't do fast foods (or at least I haven't in the past 3 years) and if I make a burger, I make it from scratch with grass-fed beef. And it's friggin' better than anything I could ever get from McD's! But again, it's not everyday. Or every week. MAYBE once or twice a month!
Our genetic ancestors used to chase gazelles through fields with spears and arrows, for Pete's sake! We're a hell of a lot tougher than some give us credit for.
I'm not saying "be careless about everything you do" but I am saying RELAX and don't get so uptight about denying yourself everything you could put in your body.

hahaha Ezmee!
C'mon, you left more than one slice of bacon, didn't you! Don't lie!
I can't do Snickers. Waaayyyy too much sugar! From a guy who used to do a lot of sugary snacks, I don't do any sugar at all these days... or VERY rarely.
I did have TWO slices of pecan pie on Xmas Day. It was fresh out of the oven, it was warm, and a little whipped cream on top... my head ached for about an hour afterwards.
