I stopped vaccinating my children 2 years ago, but I sm really stressed out about this. I need to be reassured that I am doing the right thing. People kept reminding me that children would die without vaccinations, they told me many children without vaccinations died when they caught the diseases. I got worried, what if they're right? My nephew got a light chicken pox but it cleared up in a few days right before CHristmas. But I was so scared for my kids' sake so we didn't go visit my family for that reason. Although my niece has not gotten chicken pox from her brother, that baffled me. I thought chicken pox would last about 2 weeks. My mom tells me that the new chicken pox vaccinations make it last shorter than before. I don't think so but I wanted to know what everybody think and I need good links because I am not good at searching for what I need to know.
Thanks and God Bless. Renee

The younger the age they catch chicken pox the better! The vaccinations keep them from getting full immunity because it doesn't allow a total break out! Don't get caught up in the FEARS and opinions of others. The best thing to do is to prevent disease through a wholesome and natural lifestyle and then these diseases have no place in our bodies and cannot survive under healthy circumstances. FEAR is more stressful than the disease itself!

but do you realize what your agreeing to ? your agreeing to allow a md to inject poisons into your kid hat later could mess up your kid. I wouldnt ever let my kid get shots. I dont have kids at all to young. just saying

Don't let people scare you! most of the diseases they vaccinate against are so minor and trivial and healthy people have no problem fighting them off in the rare case of catching them. Most vaccinations cannot be proven to be effective anyway, and can cause brain damage and death. Read A Shot in the Dark by L. Coulter, Evidence of Harm by David Kirby, and How to Raise a Healthy Child in Spite of Your Doctor by Dr. Robert Mendehlson. All are excellent books and are very informing.

now wait a minute,
Im all for living healthy and eating organic, but....
Most of the diseases they vaccinate against are minor and trivial ? You mean like polio ? Have you ever met someone with polio ? Perhaps you should. Chances are , you havent, because the vaccine has pretty much wiped it out.
People please, dont throw out the baby with the bathwater. Yes, some vaccines I feel are not necessary, but lets not lump all vaccines into the same category. I went to school with someone who had polio, and it isnt pretty.Science has its faults, but its not the evil intent some paint it out to be.
The more people that dont get vaccines, the more at risk we are of these diseases making there way back into society.
The problem with vaccines isnt the virus itself, but the added things like mercury. From what Ive read, they have eliminated mercury from childhood vaccines, and thats a good start. We have to keep the pressure on to get all bad ingredients removed.
All you have to do Renee , to search for things, is to go to www.google.com
and type into the search box ....key words like....history of vaccines....or...vaccine ingredients...or whatever else you'de like to know about.Just use specific words.

Olive, Note that I said MOST. Measles and mumps are practically nothing. Polio and whooping cough, not nothing. As far as polio being wiped out by the vaccine... that's not fact. There have been studies that say something completely different... Also, for the eliminating thimerosal from vaccines, that is absolutely not true. I wish I could remember where I read the article, but it was from a lady who's son developed autism after receiving his vaccines. She devoted her life to researching vaccines, and when a newspaper in my area printed an article by a local doctor stating that vaccines no longer contained mercury, she refuted him quite well. Incidentally, he no longer writes for the newspaper...

And oh, no I don't know anyone with polio, but I know many many people who's children have been altered for the worse after getting their miracle shots.

Christa,
You could be right about certain brands having not removed the mercury yet. I know most have. and we really need to keep up the pressure until ALL have removed the bad ingredients. I know that the flu shots still contain thermrosil. I dont buy into getting a flu shot. Yes, you did say MOST. My opinion is that there are a few that are trivial, but most aren't. But thats just my opinion, and Im well aware that it goes against the grain on this site. And its always possible that my opinion could change as more things come to light. New discoveries are made every day.And Im not sure about this, but I was thinking that measles and mumps would be much more serious for an elderly person if they caught it. So if they never got vaccinated, and managed to avoid it most of their life, and then caught it when old....??? But again, Im not sure. This is one area that I havent read a whole lot about. I love natural health and natural alternatives to healing...and I mean LOVE it. And I would like to believe that eating correctly would be the only thing we needed to prevent some of these diseases like polio and others. But I just cant bring myself to believe that. I mean, when the black plague hit, there was no processed food. When polio was rampant....people weren't eating a ton of terrible food. They were eating fruits and vegetables weren't they ? And the soil had more nutrients in it back then too. I know there are pro's and cons to every viewpoint. I think its important to present both sides, and go from there.

black plague = from eating unclean meat. Polio = Marilyn knows a lot about that. ask her. Measles may be difficult for an elderly person, but not if that elderly person is strong and healthy, as they were intended to be. Mumps... idk. that seems to be the simplest, most harmless disease...

About the Black Plague..."Pre-existing conditions of war and famine only exacerbated the spread of the disease during this era. Farming and trade patterns were disrupted by war, and adverse weather conditions added to the diminishing supply of grains -- wheat, barley, and oats. Populations already weakened by malnutrition were more susceptible to the disease."

And here is an interesting article on the connection between diet and Polio. http://www.whale.to/v/sandler13.html

Actually its my understanding Polio was the last curable disease we have had and that was what 1950 or so. Goes to show you modern medicine isn't really too modern. Actually I know a man with Polio and it is unfortunate. What I want to know is how he got it and why. That is what we should be doing with all diseases instead of giving someone some toxic drug that causes more problems then before. I think I would rather not use vaccinations until we really find out what the drug companies real intent is. There is just too many problem children out there and it seems to be leaning towards the vaccinations. It makes sense to me.

I agree Wendy. Never heard of anybody dying from not being vaccinated... yet the incidence of autism continues to climb!

I personally think that there is no such thing as ADD, only a personality type- a hyper child/person who can't be forced into acting like a robot and doing tedious tasks for hours on end. While I don't think sugar necessarily causes children/people to be hyper, I'm positive that it makes an already energetic child worse.

I'm curious your source for ADD being a part of the autism spectrum?
