What are your favorite books on diet and nutrition? I'm looking for something that can offer a conceivable plan for my lifestyle. I'm not going raw vegan right now (or probably ever). I just need to read something to get me motivated, and lay out a decent meal plan. What works for you? I just want to lose 5-7 lbs. and have more energy. I eat pretty healthy already but just want to broaden my horizons and nutritional knowledge a bit more. So what are your favs?

Jessica:
Losing 5-7 lbs isn't so bad! You must be pleased!
I have several cookbooks and I enjoy cooking. The "Cook Right for Your Type" by Dr. Peter D'Adamo is a favorite; although the book is in his name, all the recipes are reader-submitted and there's a large variety of dishes, flavors and several sample menus.
Otherwise I have a Better Homes & Gardens cookbook, a book on sushi, chocolate (shhh!), a book of Canadian recipes and a few cookbooks by fitness nuitrionist expert Mandy Tandy (those are my second favorites). The Tandy recipes are simple, but exotic enough to even impress guests, such as her Baked Salmon Patties with Lemon-Egg Sauce.
Thanks Tim. The "Cook Right for Your Type" book seems interesting. I keep seeing that title pop up around the site. I guess I need to find out my blood type. lol.
Sick and Tired by Dr. Robert O. Young
PH miracle by Dr. Robert Young
And the cookbook that goes with it " Back to the house of health"
All can be purchased at phmiracleliving.com

'Nourishing Traditions' by Sally Fallon changed my life. I call it my 'food bible'. Packed full of excellent recipes as well as lots of information on nutrition and little known studies. This is the book that got me started on my quest for health. Lost some chub around the middle and no longer needed my daily afternoon nap. Although not specifically directed for vegetarians, there are a lot of vegetarian meals and great fish recipes. You can adapt the principles and preparation techniques to whatever you're cooking.
Also have you heard of Jamie Oliver? 'Jamie at Home' is a great recipe book, and it has gardening info too.
