Ok....this is a challenge! I want to challenge everyone here to drink a quart of green smoothies daily for a month and report back to me what differences you have noticed. They did this in the book called (Green For Life) and the results were amazing. Let's all do this and see where it goes. Let me know who is interested and lets report back once a week for a month. Ready, set GO!
Ok now! I haven't been on here much lately but have been on the bandwagon for about 3 months now. I don't go a day without my green smoothies! I'm still working on dring 4 servings (usually 3) but am getting there. My diet is now more raw than cooked thanks to these little guys that helped push me over the edge. Thanks to Marilyn and also Cayce (since you started this thread and challenged many of us) I have started a green smoothie revolution among my friends, family and church members. One of my friends wrote to let me know that when she dropped in at our church one afternoon the entire staff was drinking green smoothies. She laughed out loud because she knew exactly why they were doing it! Cayce, you need to get back into full swing girl! You have helped many people beyond just our little group here!
I have not been drinking mine very sweet since the beginning. I've always been in it for the greens and not the fruit. The kids do need them a little sweeter though.
I love the Chia seeds (I use them in protein shakes too). I also try to alternate flavors as much as possible. Besides the blender smoothies I drink one that I just mix in a shaker cup with organic barley grass, spirulina and chlorella (mixed with 4 oz. organic grape juice and 4 oz distilled water).
I also do two protein shakes that I make myself with brown rice protein, Nature's Plus Ultra Hair shake, organic raw hemp protein, organic raw maca powder, organic chia seeds, carob powder (for chocolate flavor without the cacao buzz or caffeine), d-ribose powder, organic hi-lignan flax seed oil (mix it all with 4 oz almond milk and 4 oz distilled water) . It is high protein and high fiber and yummy!
I do all my super juices separately first thing on an empty stomach (i.e. acai, goji, noni, etc.).
What a beautiful thing consuming all these superfoods!

Cayce - I was just going to start a green smoothie challenge group but glad I searched first .... guess I'm about seven months behind everyone!!! I'm starting tomorrow. Was going to wait until I got a better blender but according to Marilyn my magic bullet should do the trick until I figure out which one to get. So, overall everyone found they had more energy? Better nails & hair? Anything else? How is your son adjusting to them? I have been making fruit smoothies occassionally for the kids with banana, strawberries, blueberries, acai, blackberries, chia & water. Maybe I can gradually add spinach or avacado and they won't notice???? I'll keep searching on here for recipes. Mixing fruits and veggies will be new for me but I'll give it a shot. Anyone new want to start the challenge????
