Dont over use antibiotics

Do other members think that antibiotics are being overused? I know of a friend who is in her early seventies and she has been lucky enough not to have taken antibiotics at any time during her life. However she has been unwell and has now needed to have part of her foot removed. She was given antibiotics to prevent infection, and the healing process has been amazing
