I don't know what sebaceous cysts are but I've had acne/pimples ever since high school stared (about 15 years). Can remember a day when I didn't have an active or healing one. I've tried all sorts of stuff in the past, including homeopathics, a dermatologist, pharmacy type skin peels, the clinic type skin peels (more for beauty, but did help, but expensive), tried going off soy as I thought that could be it, tried taking zinc supplements, pro-active and various topical creams with tee tree or benzyl peroxide to dry things up...sort of helps but never gets to the cause...also tried some mild antibiotics at the recommendation of my dermatologist (some years ago), also tried a real 'deadly' medication (NOT accutane but did have a side effect of death - duh!) to try and make them 'go away' but didn't help. Seems to be worse around my period so I'm guessing it's hormonal. My mum had them till she was 35...I guess I'll just have to wait...Anyone experienced anything like it? I don't really think it's diet related...I do eat a fair amount of bread (but it's sprouted) and oil (but it's coconut cream)...I'm getting into organic and doing some cleanses like Kevin recommended. I did a liver cleanse and now today I'm going to start a colon/parasite cleanse (not in the order he suggested, I know). Then I'll do another cleanse. I figured if my body is as healthy as possible I'll be giving it the best chance..and I'm doing if for general health, not just pimples. They are a pain but more cosmetic/self-esteem issue than any real health problem. I don't like them but I'm more interested in the imbalance that they might be a sign of. I know I can cover them up or dry them up but I'd really like to get to the core of them...At least I should be grateful... Lot's of people have worse problems than me.. Well, thanks for listening anyhow. :) We all have something to fix don't we?

Serena, Acne is not caused by anything you're doing, eating, how often you wash your face; It's a combination of factors that work beneath the skin. And yes, research has shown that genetics do play a big part in the development and persistence of acne. Thanks mom.. (just kidding) After you do your cleanses, and they don't seem to do the job, would you be interested in trying a 100% all natural cream that you use twice a day, that test studies have shown to be effective in controlling acne, try Key Relief Blemish Cream... if you order and want a discount go to my profile and use the discount code. I hope you have success! :)

:) Thanks Calyn. I think I was just 'venting'. Right now I'm trying some natural silver oxide cream so I'll see how that goes.

Hi~ I feel your pain and have been through everything you have. The thing that worked for my hormonal acne is Spironolactone. It blocks the male hormone Testosterone in our bodies. I am getting back on it soon, just switched doctors. You need to see a dermatologist and get a prescription for it though. ~Good luck!

Here are some natural treatments for acne. The one with ice and toothpaste has helped my sister and me too. I'll give that treatment as well.
Check them.

I have suffered from acne since i was 13 year old and I am now 23. It is sooo frustrating and has even caused me not to go out in public or social events for days and days. They are embarrassing and I just wish I didnt have to cover my face with makeup every say. I want to be able to just step out in the world with clear, glowing skin and not needing to cover anything up. I know one part of my problem is genetics. My dad, grandma and sisters all have/had acne. For the past few weeks, I have stopped using creams on my face, i threw all of them away b/c of all the chemicals and toxins that are in them. Remember, if you cant eat it, dont put in on your face! So to replace the cream ( i need it, i have dry skin) I started using rose water with glycerin. Very cheap and you can buy it at walmart. It works great for keeping my skin moisturized. And instead of using acne ointment, i am using tea tree oil. The results are sloooooow, but seem to be working. I recently ordered an acne face cream call Acne101 and it has all natural ingredients in it and supposively does wonders and even helps with scarring. I havent gotten it YET, but when i do, i will let all of you know how it works!!! I cant wait to get it!!! I am also going to try some a colon cleanse as well as some otehr cleanses this month. I dont have much will power so I hope I can stay on the cleansing diets. And I am not a huge vegetable eater. And on top of all that, I am eating almost all organic foods. I know I am a beautiful young woman....I just wish I didnt feel so insecure about my skin and grew more confidence! But i am so determined to get rid of this acne!

Tanya, how is that Acne 101 cream working for you?

its not a cream, but more of a liquid. it is working wonderfully! i have been using it the last 3 weeks, along with drinking rose hip tea and i definately notice a difference. This stuff is really stinky and kinda pricy, but i would recommend it to anyone. And plus, its all natural ingredients!! You can search Acne101 on the web to read more about it.

I understand the frustration, I have had acne since I was a teenager. I'm now 24 and I'm going to be getting married in June... and I really, really, really, want clear skin on my wedding. My skin is getting a little better, I've been using some creams from Maine Coast Herbals. They use all natural organic herbs and it's made locally for me, since I live in Maine. Sometimes she sends me free samples, like last time she sent me some soap I ordered and she enclosed a letter stating that she just made it and it should sit for 2 weeks to harden. So she sent me two smaller bars of soap to hold me over! Not many companies do that. Anyway, so between using the creams and cleaning up my diet (more vegies, less sugar) my skin is clearing up. Now I'll just have to cover up the old scars, unless I can find something to make those disappear!
But it is frustrating! That's my rant!
peace
