Writer of short stories, funny music, phonics rhymes, light verse & essays; love beauty, photographer, artist, pianist, health fanatic, interior decorating, big into alternate housing & sustainable living on a shoestring, love to teach literacy, like to create something from nothing (well, almost nothing), funny, articulate, loving, baptized & committed Christian, has one daughter and two great grandsons, like helping others--phew!

Favorite Music:

Most of the works of Verdi, Puccini, Rachmanninoff, Chopin, SaintSaens, Schubert, Schumann, Debussy, Ravel, Borodin, Gershwin, Quincy Jones, and genres like ragtime, gut-bucket blues, Bossa Nova & Latin Rythms, esp. Cuban, and I also love Spanish flamenco & gypsy guitar + violin. A friend of mine constantly grills me on my familiarity with today's musical artists--huh? What I like doesn't mix easily with today's pop music--sort of like mixing oil and water. How can you like it all? Well... I don't.

Bible, Roget's Thesaurus, Merriam Webster's Rhyming Dictionary, Jane Austin's entire collection, Louisa Mae Allcott books, The Cynic's Dictionary (very funny &, true, unfortunately), & a huge stack of photography books (composition, lighting, posing, etc.)
