When I first read this I was momentarily perplexed. Now I interpret this to mean " Don't have your steak, chicken breast or fish separately from your ONE vegetable: have your large handful of lettuce (together) with your steak" (?). Is anyone else...

Thanks for your feedback. I actually bought a box of melba toast and was kind of turned off by the ingredients - enriched white flour, molasses, etc. I bought it and have eaten it with the meals as kind of a 'treat'. They sure are delicious. And as long as I'm still losing weight, I don't see the harm.
I haven't looked into the seafood that Simiens allows and Kevin doesn't. I don't know if Kevin's criteria for selecting wild-caught as opposed to farm-raised applies. I'll have to look into that.
Also, thanks for the tip about mixing vegetables.
