Hometown:
Chicago, Illinois - transplanted to Pine Bluff, AR
About Me:
I am retired and have done a lot in my life and life has done a lot to me, but I'm still hanging in there! I was born & raised in Chicago. I attended a college preparatory H.S. (Parker H.S.). I moved to Pine Bluff, Ar in 1957, So, I call it my hometown. A few of my interests are crafts, writing, collecting, quilting & karaoke. I wrote a book about my town. I have made mini furniture & this year I will be making wooden furniture for Fashion Dolls & clothes for others. I've taken arch. drafting & I like to design homes. After 2 yrs of college I have been self-educated & like to keep up with the latest health issues, partly because I need the info for myself & also to help others. I had 2 girls, my youngest died of adrenal cancer, just past her 18th birthday. I also have 3 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren. I am Italian on my father's side. On my mother's side, we have been in this country since 1645. James Warren arrived in Kittery, Maine, on a ship of political prisoners who disagreed with British Rule. Therefore, he was "banished" to the Americas as a punishment! And look at how the country developed since then. . . My great-grandfather (a Highland Scotsman) married a full blooded Cherokee Indian Shaman and here I am. Going back prior to 1645, my geneaology notes, William Earl of Warren at the battle of Hastings in 1066 a.d. and The Vikings in 912 a.d. I am proud of my ancestory & find it very interesting that there are many generations of military, including my father (WW1), my two brothers (WW2) & myself from 1958-60. Being a fighter is in my DNA which could account for my continuing extistance after having cancer twice, 2 heart attacks, a 5 bypass procedure, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, eye surgery for cataracts, diabetes and arthritis and recently a 90% blockage in my lower left leg. I sold Chinese herbs for Sunrider Herbs in the 80's and having all these conditions has brought me back to natural cures, once again. I contribute part of my existance to having a possitive outlook and a good sense of humor. It is less stressful to be possitive, although sometimes it's hard to do that. Negativity turns in on you and it makes things worse. I will be 70 on June 4th. I have never found my birthday twin until last year, when my daughter sent me an email. She said "CHECK THIS OUT!" It was HIPPOCRATES, of all people. . . . .
Just thought I would drop you aline to say; How is the universe treating you today? It is a beautiful partly cloudy day here in southern california. I never did thank you for adding me as a friend on your page, so T-H-A-N-K-S M-U-C-H!!!
I'm all for alternative medicine. Allopathic medicine is just chemicals man made to mimic natural ones. Take a look at aspirin for one. Why not chew on some willow bark...
