By the way, I forgot to mention that you did great only putting on a few lbs. after your honeymoon--you should actually be congratulated. You are like me in that I tend to be hard on myself. I was so frustrated when putting on a lb. at first too, but you will learn what your body can and cannot handle and will be more relaxed about it in the near future--best wishes. Michele

After having done 3 rounds (the 3rd one being done because I put on about 7 lbs or so back), I would suggest doing what was passed on to me from someone else that works great before you do a steak day. I call it a tuna day. You can skip breakfast or if really hungry, eat a few scrambled eggs and nothing else to eat. Then, for lunch have tuna with mayo over salad greens or celery. Then for dinner, have a meat with a small salad. When I have done that, I lose about 2 lbs. What you will find though, if you are like me, is that in the early stages of phase 4, you can get away with something like this for a period of time--having an occasional splurge day or more and then give yourself a few days to let your body balance back with the release of extra water you have retained with the extra food. Usually it will balance out if you watch a little closer for a few days. If you continue to have more and more splurge days (for me a splurge day is a lot of starches), your body will continue to adjust up to a new base weight. That is what has happened to me. There is not much I can get away with by way of starches. I have learned to watch a little more in that area. I am much more relaxed too about putting on a few lbs after 3 rounds as I see it is still a bit of a struggle still--but it is much better to struggle at a size 6 then it is to struggle even more in a size 12 (that was shared with me by the same person who shared the tuna day with me). Anyway, to make long story short, I do believe if you do a steak day when you put on a few lbs after you have tried to let your body balance off after a splurge because your body did not balance out, I think it will help. But, what I have found is that I have to behave for about 3 or 4 days following the steak day to get my weight set point to stick to farther away from phase 3 i get. I have not done a steak day for 2 months and have put on about 4 lbs. (because i totally dread them now), but I am ok with it right now. I know I can always do another round once a year if I have to but still try to keep this in check. Don't be so hard on yourself, but stay motivated to stay down. I am still happy because I have still kept off 30 lbs. after 5 months of finishing my last round of phase 2 and am trying to learn that not stressing about it helps keep the weight off too.
