Day 9 of Releana and the official weigh-in at the Dr's office....

So the hunger is finally subsiding a bit. But I've had to scarf a tomato or some cucumber slices a time or two, just to keep from hurting my children. I protect my food like an inmate. I cooked some shrimp on the George Foreman grill last night and my sweet little 5 year old daughter says "Mommy can I have one of your shrimps?" Poor girl, I hope I didn't scar her for life. Even my husband is defending my portions. "Sweetie, you can't eat one of mommy's 8 shrimp, that's all she gets..."

Ok, so on to the good stuff.

My doc says I can come in as often as I'd like to weigh-in. The pull my chart, update my info. It all feels very legit. And this way, I feel like I'm really getting my money's worth! So, during my consultation I weighed-in at 134.6lbs......and today....drum roll please........126.6lbs!!!!

Whoo hooo! 8 lbs!!! Whooo HOOO!

Hi Everyone,
I am finally at 150. I didn't think this day would come but it's here. Now I'm looking forward to 145. Carissa- I have been doing the drops for 60 days nonstop. My doctor says you can stay on the Releana until you get to your desired weight. There are a few exceptions she said. If you get to a point where you stop losing then she recommends you get off and do the maintenance for month before starting again. When you stop taking the drops 72 hrs prior. You eat your regular 500 cal diet. By the begn of the 4th day the mediicine is not still feeding your blood so you will be hungry so that is why you eat regular food on the 4th day because you would not be able to maintain that diet without the medicine in your bloodstream. In the "Pounds and Inches" and in my literature it says that if you are going to have to interrupt your diet for a couple of days to stop with the drops or you will experience a rapid gain. However, if your just going off the diet for 1 meal on thanksgiving my doctor said to keep taking the drops but you may or may not gain the next day depending on how much you ate at dinner. I will be off the diet for Thursday and Friday so I know I better not continue the drops for those two days when I know I will have some carbs. I don't want to double my gain. I will also have wine on Thanksgiving. Just to be on the safe side I am not going to do the drops on Thursday and Friday.

Jo-there are a couple of times I've had a little extra protein or an additional apple so I wouldn't totally eat the wrong thing. Occasionally if your hungry I think it's better to eat a little extra of the food allowed then it is to eat cookies or something totally not allowed. Drink water I will say because it also helps flush your system and keep you hydrated and helps with cravings. Add some crystal lite - Lemon flavor to make it easier to drink. If you can't drink it at work, try to drink most of your water when your off but you have to get the water in. It will help you lose as well. It's through the urine that your fat will pass.

Hi everyone. Sounds like everyone is doing awesome. Tonia, one lb is no big deal. I keep going up and down too. I didnt' think I was cheating but turns out I shouldn't have so many diet sodas. Supposedly, I can have two but I'm going to try to just stay away completely since I was beginning to stall. Only 3 lbs dropped this last week for a total of 23lbs. Carol, I have a question about quitting the drops 72 hours before T day. What do you eat for the 72 hours prior? if we stick to the 500 calorie plan won't we fell famished? My doctor says to stay on the drops and when I told her about the triple weight gain she said no stay on the drops but not to go overboard with carbs on T day. Have a couple bites of carbohydrate loaded foods like yams , etc. So i think i'll indulge in turkey and veggies and just dabble in the rest. I DO want my wine. I'm missing it so much! I'm also wondering if anyone has been on the drops for over 45 days in a row. I thought you were supposed to do a 6 week break after 45 days

Hi all,
I'm on my 2nd month of the Releana diet and have lost 20 lbs so far... still have 20 to go and I'm getting cravings these days like you wouldn't believe! I decided to stay local for the holidays and just try not to go off my diet. l. I really want to stay on but I noticed on this blog a few people taking a break for the holidays and that sounds good to me... but I just don't want to go overboard. Haven't asked my Dr. what he thinks / recommends about this, pretty sure he'd tell me to stay on. I have been 'cheating' a little the past few days, not weighing my food portions and today I had an extra apple just to stop myself from running out and buying cookies or something! I also don't really drink that much water b/c if I do I have to pee every 5 min and that doesn't go over well working at a hospital! Any advise or encouragement would be appreciated ;-)

Hi Everyone. I didn't quite make my 150 goal by my b-day on Saturday. I weighed in at 151.1. on Saturday. I'm too disappointed it's only 1lb. I weighed in today at 151.6 so I'm up 1/2 lb. I didn't cheat even though this was a b-day weekend. I'm hoping I'm just retaining water.

Donna- Today starts my third month. So far for two months I lost 30lbs. I'm estatic. I think this program will keep me in check for the holidays other than my planned cheat days.

This is the first time I've heard about stopping the drops before doing a planned cheat. I'm surprised to read about the increased weight when fats & carbs are consumed together while taking Releana. I've been debating about doing maintenance until after the holidays, but after talking to my advisor I've decided to keep on the program. Going off the drops for a few days before T-Day sounds like a good idea. I was wondering how I could stick on the 500 cal/day in a houseful of people and surrounded by goodies. I probably won't be able to eat much, but at least be able to have a little pumpkin pie. This is day 50 for me & I'm down 31 1/2 lbs, so I'm approaching halfway to my goal.

GM Everyone,

Weighed in this morning at 151.6 slow and steady. Tomorrow is my B-day and my goal was 150lb by my b-day so I'm happy with this. I can take being a pound or so away from the goall:). The idea that I will be in the 140's before the month ends is wonderful. I haven't been in the 140's since elementary school ( That was centuries ago LOL.).

Carol- Your right about stopping the drops. I'm actually going to stop on that Monday. I will resume them on that Saturday. I can't do Thanksgivning and Black Friday on 500 calories. :) Have a great weekend. I made the sacrifice to do the diet on my birthday but I'm not doing it on thanksgiving. I have to draw the line in the sand.....

According to my doc...it takes 72 hrs to get the drops outta your system...therefore, she said stop the Tuesday prior to T-Day...and resume immediately after you know you're not gonna eat fat again...she said probably after a coupla turkey sandwiches the day after! She also said that the weight gain from the carbs & fat triples with the drops...I'm not feelin that math! I'm gonna stop the drops!

your right the blog did mess up chronologically speaking. I thought it was just me. Glad to know it's not. I'm not o.k. with the slow loss but since I'm hositng thanksgiving with lots of guest and overnight guest. I don't want to do the drops and the low calorie diet on Thursday and Friday. I will resume on Saturday. I was thinking of doing the drops but eat regularly but I didn't want to have an enormous gain.

Hey everybody...

Is it just me or is the blog ALL messed up chronologically speaking??? Anyway...Tonia...I discontinued the drops Thurs, Fri & Sat...Started back up Sunday...and have been stalled for 5 days...Today is the first day I'm back where I was last Friday...so make sure youre OK with such a slow process...Today is day 47 for me with a loss of 23 lbs...still at 1/2 lb per day...so the cost of my cheats have been slow losses...

Weighed in today at 152.2. not much different from yesterday. This is the annoying part of Releana when you start to lose slowly. Anyway I will keep plugging away at it.
