looked yellow under the lights, but when i came home they are the greenest bananas ive ever seen. I peeled one and i couldn't even peel it, thats how thick it was. ive eaten green bananas before but i couldn't do a thing with these bananas. Will they turn yellow or become eatable in a few days? I did peel one and it didnt even look like a fully developed banana yet

Yes, they'll turn yellow. I understand that all bananas are picked green. They are gassed to make them turn yellow quickly. This is why the greenish yellow ones are uneven. I'm not saying I'm an expert on banana ripening. Sometimes the bananas are picked too green and they don't ripen very well at all. I have a couple banana trees in my yard and the bananas ripen evenly all the way down each individual one.

Oh, Yeah, You can hasten them to ripen by putting them in a brown paper bag with an apple. The natural gas from the apple in the closed bag increases the carbon dioxide in the bag ... or something like that.

Stick the bananas in a brown paper bag & leave them on the counter overnight & they'll ripen twice as fast. (Green bananas are the best though!! :)
