I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last october 2006 and was scheduled for RAI (radioactive Iodine) by December but declined the treatment. My thyroid has multi nodules which causes my hyperthyroidism. I went to a chinense doctor and acupuncturist for series of treatment until now. It did alleviate my condition in terms of energy but the symptoms still there every now and then. I would appreciate any sharing on this condition and topic.
I am interested also, my neice has just been diagnosed with hy[erthuroidism. She is a basket case.
We are trying to get her to go natural. All doctors know how to do is give prescriptions and surgery.
There has got to be some answers out there.
It is a year and a half now when I was diagnosed with hyperthoroidism and refused the RAI (radio active iodine). I declined the RAI because it will destroy my thyroid and I will have to take medication ( thryroid hormone supplement) for life. I tried the acupuncture and chinese medicines but it did not work. I tried valerian root ( available in GNC and other herb store) and it helped me very much in my insomia (got good sleep now) and also the heart palpitations (less of it because probably because I am slepping well). I am also taking Sun Chlorella for 3 months now and it seems to be giving positive results.
Also read up on iodine therapy ... my personal disclaimer: I would under NO circumstance ingest Lugol's Iodine. This is being used by MDs, the same guys that pass out antibiotics and a hoard of other drugs.
That doesn't mean that we aren't iodine deficient, and that plant iodine supplementation won't heal what ails us.
hi,
I too have just been diagnosed, and my doctor has requested that i do the radioactive iodine thing and I too
am leaning towards declining... i am in sesarch of info too
Hi, It has been a year and a half since I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I refused to underwent RAI treatment because of the fact that it will destroy your thyroid and you have to go on medication ( thyroid hormone supplement) for life. I also stopped going to acupuncturist because it is expensive, twice a week visit and I don't see any improvement with regards to insomia and palpitations. I tried valerian root (available in GNC and other herb stores) for sometime now, and it helps me very much in my insomia and heart palpitations. I am taking Sun Chlorella for 3 months now and it seems giving good results.
