I thought I would start my own blog on my progress and see if this could help or I could be helped by anyone who is in progress or finished with a phase 2 run. I am on day 5 and am feeling pretty good. I am down 8 pounds from my initial 2 day loading stage. I am a pretty athletic guy who is really just looking to circumvent the love handles and additional weight that comes with getting older and less active. I am 37 and am in fairly decent shape but personally not where I would like to be and am disconcerted enough to finally make a move before things get out of hand.

My days on Phase 2 so far have gone as follows:
Day 1: 1/27 - 215.5 #'s
Day 2: 1/28 - 216.5 #'s
Day 3: 1/29 - 218.5 #'s
Day 4: 1/30 - 214 #'s
Day 5: 1/31 - 210.5 #'s
Day 6: 2/1 - 208 #'s
Day 7: 2/2 - 207 #'s
Day 8: 2/3 - 207 #'s
Day 9: 2/4 - 208.5 #'s
Day 10: 2/5 - 207.5 #'s
Day 11: 2/6 - 207 #'s
Day 12: 2/7 - 206 #'s
Day 13: 2/8 - 204.2 #'s
Day 14: 2/9 - 203.6 #'s
Day 15: 2/10 - 202.2 #'s
Day 16: 2/11 - 206.8 #'s (Huge cheat day! OOPS. :)
Day 17: 2/12 - 203.6 #'s (Back in the mix baby!)
Day 18: 2/13 - 201.8 #'s
Day 19: 2/14 - 199.0 #'s
Day 20: 2/15 - 199.6 #'s (Valentine's day dinner cheat. Not horrible but less than expected. Also, last shot day for me and Phase 2)
Day 21: 2/16 - 198.8 #'s
Day 22: 2/17 - 199.6 #'s (On to Phase 3 Baby!)

I did play basketball last night and i am assuming I lost some water weight from playing for 1.5 hours but amazingly I felt pretty strong and actually a little more energetic than expected. I will say that the hunger has been good for the most part but the habit of eating is still there and sitting around does nothing to help that. I will try and report daily and am open to any help I can provide or any help that want to come my way. Have a great day everyone. James

James, I am noticing a few things you are doing ( w/ great results) but are not technically on the "allowed" list in the protocol. Did i miss something or is that all totally good and kosher? I ask only because widening the food spectrum could be nice. (Like cabbage, beef etc)

Actually, I believe everything that I have eaten should be on the allowed list of Simeon's protocol/manuscript. I had to re-read this thing a few times as I find more and more things each time. Beef and cabbage are definitely allowed. I am attaching from Simeon's below:

1) 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed raw from the bird.
2) One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

YEP you're right!!! I totally focused all my attention on the fish chicken this...! Thnx :-)
How do you prepare beef w/o an oil to keep from sticking? ground beef? steak? what.
I like Julie's idea on the meatballs!
totally great info - as much as i studied this - how the heck did I miss that?!

Your welcome. Like I said, I have read this thing a bunch of times and keep finding new things constantly. Crazy but I think our brains gravitate to the fact that we are looking for and skip some important items along the way.

Probably the best way to prepare the beef (ground or steak) is either broiler, grill, or even frying pan. The minimal oil from the organic beef is enough for it not to stick. From regular non-organic beef try to get as lean of meat as possible. Organic meat is already unbelievably lean and preferable.

When I cook my meats I always sear them first Then add hot purified water and put the lid on real quick. They sorta steam and it creates a type of sauce from the seasonings and the seared meat. Just continue to add water as needed Just little bits. at a time and always bring it to a dry pan a where it browns then add the water again. etc. If your choice is tomato on that meal I use canned tomato organic of course and grab a handfull from the can and put that in at the end of cooking. Its like having spaghetti and meatballs w/out the pasta. It works.

Some of my favorite things to do on phase 2 was to make little meatballs with my 100 grams of ground beef. I would cut up a clove of garlic really fine and some basil. I would season with onion salt, garlic salt etc. then roll the little meatballs and fry them.
I also loved to cut up my apple in thin slices and put them out on a plate and sprinkle them with cinnamon. It was the closest thing to apple pie. I couldnt imagine ever eating the apple the normal way. First cut the apple in half and use a melon baller to take out the core. then the rest is all edible. When your hungry who wants to waste any of the apple.

Haha. This might sound crazy but I eat the whole apple except the seeds. I am talking core and everything.

No it dosent sound funny. I would look forward to that apple. Its the closest thing to a dessert there is. My favorite apple is a Pink Lady. except for the fact they are so expensive. I could get some jonagold from costco they were the next best thing in my opinion. I didnt care for green apples when I was on this diet. I dont know why normally I like sour apples but not these days.

Hi James and Lisalily. Good Job on the weightloss. I just finished my 2nd round of phase 2 a week ago yesterday. The lotion thing really is bummer. By the time I quit the second round my knuckles were cracked and bleeding. My fingers have splits near the nails. I have been using lotion now but the cracks are just not healing very fast. Its very dry this time of year. I envy the energy you guys have. When I was on phase 2 the second time I had no energy at all. I was dizzy and faint quite a bit. Working out was not happening. My hair started falling out too. I got it cut. that helped it look better. Things are better now.

Wow...Julie...
Sorry to hear how you felt on p2 second round....
Any reason why the reaction was like that?........what kind of lotion were you using while on the shots?.......I heard from others that what ever lotion is fine since most of our products today don't have alot of oil........
about your hair....you know I had lost hair also...but I had lost hair before so i never really related to the shots....you think it was the shots that made your hair fall off?

My husband is convinced that because I only had a few more pound to lose that I was just deficient. ( In vitamins etc.) After I started eating again The hair thing fixed itself. I didnt use lotion during phase 2 because of the oil thing.

By the way ... on the hair thing.... I own a salon and i get alot of fearful questions on that especially with people going thru a gastric by pass proceedure. What I have learned is the lack of natural essencial fatty acids...( whats in different oils ) is what lubricates the hair & skin. Some times the extreme loss in food intake helps w/ the hair loss too. You are right to do a cute cut - it'll help the hair appear fuller and healthy untill all the nutrients come back in. Remember the whole concept of HCG, it's the hormone that is present in women that ensures the baby gets the nutrition & if there is anything left ... then the mom. Woman after woman have come into my salon after a baby w/ hair loss/ clogged skin/ breaks outs/ cracked teeth/ etc because the baby leeched the nutrients first - so I suppose in a way that's what happens, to a small degree, to the rest of us. :-)
