I thought I would start my own blog on my progress and see if this could help or I could be helped by anyone who is in progress or finished with a phase 2 run. I am on day 5 and am feeling pretty good. I am down 8 pounds from my initial 2 day loading stage. I am a pretty athletic guy who is really just looking to circumvent the love handles and additional weight that comes with getting older and less active. I am 37 and am in fairly decent shape but personally not where I would like to be and am disconcerted enough to finally make a move before things get out of hand.

My days on Phase 2 so far have gone as follows:
Day 1: 1/27 - 215.5 #'s
Day 2: 1/28 - 216.5 #'s
Day 3: 1/29 - 218.5 #'s
Day 4: 1/30 - 214 #'s
Day 5: 1/31 - 210.5 #'s
Day 6: 2/1 - 208 #'s
Day 7: 2/2 - 207 #'s
Day 8: 2/3 - 207 #'s
Day 9: 2/4 - 208.5 #'s
Day 10: 2/5 - 207.5 #'s
Day 11: 2/6 - 207 #'s
Day 12: 2/7 - 206 #'s
Day 13: 2/8 - 204.2 #'s
Day 14: 2/9 - 203.6 #'s
Day 15: 2/10 - 202.2 #'s
Day 16: 2/11 - 206.8 #'s (Huge cheat day! OOPS. :)
Day 17: 2/12 - 203.6 #'s (Back in the mix baby!)
Day 18: 2/13 - 201.8 #'s
Day 19: 2/14 - 199.0 #'s
Day 20: 2/15 - 199.6 #'s (Valentine's day dinner cheat. Not horrible but less than expected. Also, last shot day for me and Phase 2)
Day 21: 2/16 - 198.8 #'s
Day 22: 2/17 - 199.6 #'s (On to Phase 3 Baby!)

I did play basketball last night and i am assuming I lost some water weight from playing for 1.5 hours but amazingly I felt pretty strong and actually a little more energetic than expected. I will say that the hunger has been good for the most part but the habit of eating is still there and sitting around does nothing to help that. I will try and report daily and am open to any help I can provide or any help that want to come my way. Have a great day everyone. James

Boy , i am in blustery MN and I get the dry cracked deal! Maybe try Baby OIl - it may help. Go to bed w/ cotton sleep gloves bed douse baby oil on. I do get weak, but I think Eleotin tea may help you there w/ the blood sugar deal. I am hostessing a discussion group in my house tonight...maybe I'll learn some tricks I can share. :-0

PS I changed my pic to be more accurate in case you're wondering.

Now I can use my organic lotion. I did hear you can use mineral oil because the body dosent absorb it. But I was to paranoid to use it during phase 2. I am in Utah its pretty dry here. High altitude etc. Lots of snow.

Day 10 and weight is back down a pound to 207.5. I had an unbelievably tough workout yesterday which absolutely drained me. I was supposed to play basketball last night but I bailed out as I didn't think it would be smart to run myself down as the workout was almost too much to bounce back from with no real carbs for energy. My new program will have to be modified in order to accomodate limited energy for hard core activities.

Anyway, still no cheating and sticking to the program hardcore with no room for error as far as I know. The inches seem to keep coming off the body which is what our whole goal should be. 16 more days to get to day 26 and on to phase 3. Happy Tuesday all!

What kind of workout did you do? I am dying to start weight training, But I thought I better stabilize on phase 3 first.
I just spin for 25-30 minutes a day and do a 45 min. yoga. When I was on phase 2 I found it hard to do anything to strenuous. I wanted to weight train then but there just isnt enough protien in the diet to sustain any real muscle. Or thats how it felt.
On February 2nd I am going to the gym. I am really excited and scared because muscle weighs more than fat and for some reason I get a little hung up on numbers. It may be a girl thing.

Great job on the loss. I will be totally happy if I get 19 in the 26 days. I am definitely jealous of your phase 3 start as that is the start of some good food again. WOOHOO!!! Enjoy it because sticking to phase 2 is an awesome accomplishment in my book. I know I will definitely look at the fact that I have accomplished Phase 2 as a big deal.

My problem is I am just afraid to not eat what I was eating because it worked. But the book said if I do that I will gain..and Julie I agree ....its a girl thing. Because if put on 10 pounds...guys can tell me all day long its muscle...maybe for them..not for me. If it takes a 10 pound gain to be muscular..then I would rather not be..LOL!!
Julie--were you asking James or me about the workout?

Yes. He said his workout took alot out of him. I was wondering what he was doing.
And yes your suppose to get plenty of protien because the body will freak if you dont. my first round on phase 3 I wasnt getting enough protien and I would wake up with alot of water retention. Very strange. So I had to do the steak protocol 5 times. This round I take a protien supplement shake and I havent had any water retention. But I have had to do the steak protocol 3 times already. I found out from some fabulous people on this web site that cashews and walnuts are starches. I didnt know that and have been eating them too much. Phase 3 is by far the hardest to follow because KT is so vague on what to do.

The workout I do is at a place called NX Level opened up by a former football player named Joe Panos. The training is mostly centered around high school, college level, and some pro athletes. I still play football, basketball, and softball competitively and these workouts are centered around mostly serious athletes. Most every exercise is core related but includes platform power lifting moves, regular weights, speed training, etc... I like it because it prepares me for the sports I play but it is so intense that I don't think that I have enough gas to do this workout and then something else strenuous in the same day. It is weird though it mostly affects me as soon as I am done. I don't think I have enough food to recover quickly so it leaves me almost completely drained until I eat dinner and then I seem to bounce back reasonably well. It just seems that the fuel is being burned and then your out for a while.

my activities next week will be lots of snow skiing and walking. i'm sure that will be plenty! once i'm home i'll be doing weight training. oh wendi, you asked where i work out. i work out at home. i have the total Gym that chuck norris advertises. since he is a black belt also i thought it would be perfect for me. i found out a few years ago when i got it that it really gets me muscular and cut. the shirtless pic on my page is just 12 weeks after i got the total gym. a strength training workout takes me 20 minutes every other day and then i do cardio on it 20 min every day. it really is fun. i'll be jumping on it now! hope you all have a great day!

Day 11 and I am down .5 pounds. Yesterday was pretty much a ho-hum day. No cheating but definitely thoughts of it later at night while sitting home. I will say that to all of you who are not taking advantage of the cabbage soup with our ration of meat mixed in you are missing out. You can have almost a half head of cabbage which ends up being a ton and then the spices of the soup. It is awesome and very filling. Today is Winter Storm Warning here in Wisconsin so no work for me and no school for the kiddies. I will try and keep busy with snow blowing, work around the house, and horsing around with the kids. The work week usually makes things easier for me when I am on this diet as you are busy and time passes without you thinking about it. At home there are much more temptations. Anyway, Happy Wednesday to all!
