I tried (well attempted) to make the first bread recipe on the weekend. Does anyone have any pointers? Because what turned out was something extremely dense and kind of chalky. Mind you, I did "half" the ingredients. Just looking for some feed back, thanks.
Yes, it's quite filling-that's the great part! I actually didn't start making it with the intention of weightloss, but it's just so portable and is a good snack throughout the day as it doesn't need refrigeration. Fast food! I actually think it's quite yummy also. Have you played around with the recipe at all? Since coconut oil has so many benefits, I substituted one of my batches with it. BIGGGGG mistake! It tasted so horrible. I also used 1/2 the oil, and then about a little more than 1/2 1/2 again, with apple sauce and it came out pretty good. I also found that cooking it for 2-3 hours at a very very low temp-I think my oven is around 100-150 degrees, made the consistency different and I liked it better. My uncle now makes it like that as well. Keep me posted if you play with the recipe at all....Happy Hunza!! -Rach :-)
I just posted my experience on the forums...lol. I didn't think to use the search function first. I have to say, it is an interesting bread. Dense, yes. Hard comes to mind. Maybe I'm cooking it too long? Next time I'll experiment with the recipe a bit. If there is a next time. This batch may just last me for quite some time!!!
