My progress on HCG diet/Simeons Protocol

I thought I would start my own blog on my progress and see if this could help or I could be helped by anyone who is in progress or finished with a phase 2 run. I am on day 5 and am feeling pretty good. I am down 8 pounds from my initial 2 day loading stage. I am a pretty athletic guy who is really just looking to circumvent the love handles and additional weight that comes with getting older and less active. I am 37 and am in fairly decent shape but personally not where I would like to be and am disconcerted enough to finally make a move before things get out of hand.

My days on Phase 2 so far have gone as follows:
Day 1: 1/27 - 215.5 #'s
Day 2: 1/28 - 216.5 #'s
Day 3: 1/29 - 218.5 #'s
Day 4: 1/30 - 214 #'s
Day 5: 1/31 - 210.5 #'s
Day 6: 2/1 - 208 #'s
Day 7: 2/2 - 207 #'s
Day 8: 2/3 - 207 #'s
Day 9: 2/4 - 208.5 #'s
Day 10: 2/5 - 207.5 #'s
Day 11: 2/6 - 207 #'s
Day 12: 2/7 - 206 #'s
Day 13: 2/8 - 204.2 #'s
Day 14: 2/9 - 203.6 #'s
Day 15: 2/10 - 202.2 #'s
Day 16: 2/11 - 206.8 #'s (Huge cheat day! OOPS. :)
Day 17: 2/12 - 203.6 #'s (Back in the mix baby!)
Day 18: 2/13 - 201.8 #'s
Day 19: 2/14 - 199.0 #'s
Day 20: 2/15 - 199.6 #'s (Valentine's day dinner cheat. Not horrible but less than expected. Also, last shot day for me and Phase 2)
Day 21: 2/16 - 198.8 #'s
Day 22: 2/17 - 199.6 #'s (On to Phase 3 Baby!)


I did play basketball last night and i am assuming I lost some water weight from playing for 1.5 hours but amazingly I felt pretty strong and actually a little more energetic than expected. I will say that the hunger has been good for the most part but the habit of eating is still there and sitting around does nothing to help that. I will try and report daily and am open to any help I can provide or any help that want to come my way. Have a great day everyone. James

That is so funny!! The chocolate covered pretzels sound soooo good. The hashbrowns do to. I would love to eat some popcorn as well. I hate mickey d's so no big deal there. I dont miss soda at all. At the diet place I went to they said 1 can of soda kills your fat burning for 24 hours. Because co2 kills oxygen which is what burns fat. Once I heard that I thought I would never miss the soda.
For Lisa I did tan in a tanning bed recently. The weather is so bad that I needed to be uplifted. I did 25 min. in the ruva bed. I didnt burn at all. But the heat from the bed was great. and It did make me feel better.

Day 13 and I am down almost a full 2 pounds this morning. I did workout very intensely yesterday but I will say that I definitely felt weaker yesterday and it sure does take it out of you when the workout is finally finished. As mentioned before, this workout is a hard core routine for serious athletes and I definitely found myself ready to pack it in early as my strength was just not there and the ability to recover was just empty. Oh well, I have about 1 week more and I am feeling fantastic and the body is looking great. Let's hope this continues and hope that this weekend treats me right and I can keep the focus. Day 14 and I am down .6 pounds and things are looking good. The losses keep coming and the body is reflecting as much. I will post some pics later today or tomorrow with the progress.

I did work out 3 times this week and am feeling the effects today as I am somewhat more sore than I would normally be but it definitely is worth it as I want to make sure that I am staying fit. I did get a body fat count today and was a little dissapointed as I was 16% but the trainer that gave it to me explained that under such a diet your muscles are becoming stretched and depleted of water which means that there is more skin to grab and a higher fat count. I am going to wait to get it checked again when I am doing phase 3 and eating a little more normal. This is supposed to help. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Day 15 and I am down 1.4 pounds this morning and I am weighing 202.2 pounds. This leaves me down a total of 16.3 pounds in 14 days which is right on or a little ahead of schedule according to the protocol. I will say that working out may help in assisting the fat loss but I do think some muscle may be lost as well in the cases of extreme workouts. I definitely am weaker during workouts as I believe that there is just not enough energy to sustain a fully effective workout as when you are eating regularly and taking in necessary carbs. Needless to say I am happy with the losses to date. I look way better, feel better for the most part, and am looking forward to maintaining this weight or even a little lower for a long time. Day 16 and I am up in weight today (206.8 pounds). I debated posting this as I had a major cheat day yesterday but I thought if it can help anyone than I better do it. Basically, I was going crazy on this diet and decided that I was going to take a day off and hang out with the family and eat like I normally did. Up until yesterday, I had not cheated for a second. Not an inch was given in this regard. However, I will say that I am not justifying but I am not sad that I did it as my family had been dealing with me not hanging out with them too much at meals for the last 15 days and so it was nice to eat what they were eating and have a great time with them. I will say that I felt miserable for a while after each meal and I believe this was due to the fact that my body was not ready or used to carbs, sugars, and higher fat foods. Needless to say I am back on the program this morning and feeling good. I actually kind of missed the rigidity but I do feel great this morning even though the scale did not reflect my happiness. I am pretty sure I should be back on track in the next couple of days and hopefully all will be better. Have a great Monday everyone!

Hey good for you....who cares about the 2 pounds - you know you can get it off quick. I have to agree that i have been hanging out less w/ friends and fam due to the fact that ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND FOOD!!!! I have great self control but heck... c'mon one can only take sitting in Olive Garden w/ tea for soooo long! hahahah My daughters father had a dinner party at his home last night and wanted us to be there - holy cow!!! Chillien Sea Bass, Terriyaki Salmon , ahi Tuna, lobster Bisque, strawberry cake!!!! Geeeez!
I think the biggest thing I fear is how to go off phase 3& 4 and return to semi normal eating and now screw up metabolism.
I am down 25 pounds now - in about 25 ish days. :-)

Great job on the weight loss that is fantastic. Also great job on sticking to it at least one of us can still be called the rock. haha.

Is your daughter's father satan or what? That is just wrong to subject you to that kind of goodness. I am definitely hearing you on the Olive Garden thing. I am about Green Tea'd out.

Yeah - some would call him satan! hahahaha LOL! I am totally hating the tea. i get large mugs and add a second tea bag of herbal peach, or acia, or whatever so I can choke it down!

I am a bit proud however - this diet / wellness eating is not for the faint of heart! One of my girls who works for me quit after like , 4 days! I will say - this is a year for me to apprehend health & wellness. If not now ... when? Self control & discipline is not tops on the typical American's list of things to conquer... that's for sure :-)

I'm with you this is the year for me as well to square away the bad habits and have the body that I want to see in the mirror every morning. It looks like you are resigned to making that happen and if nothing else what you have accomplished to date on this diet is huge. Keep it up and make this your year.

Ps. I have my own satan as well. haha

Day 17 and I am back in the mix. After my unbelievable cheat day and gain of weight (206.8 pounds) I am back down to 203.6 pounds this morning and hopefully back on track. I ate yesterday and didn't seem to miss a beat. I wasn't hungry and actually felt pretty great all day. I did play hoops last night for a good hour and a half which I am sure helped to shed the extra water weight I may have put on from the day of cheat. Woke up this morning and I feel really good today as well. 5-6 more days to go and on to phase 3. Yessssss..... Happy Tuesday!

G, thanks. I am definitely a person that likes to put the true things out there and I guess I thought if people could see the real deal it would help. I didn't necessarily like posing it up in the pics but whatever helps I am usually a good sport. My last day of shots is Friday and then it's 2-3 days of no shots but the same diet. Let's hope all is well when those days roll around. J

Day 18 and I am down to 201.8 pounds which is the low for P2 right now. Just about 17 pounds down after 17 days. 3 more days of shots and 5-6 more days total and P2 is history. I am still feeling really good although physical activity is a little harder in the fact that you stay a little more sore for longer but that will soon be over. So, gutting it out is the flavor of the next few days for workouts but well worth it. Happy Wednesday!
