Last night I noticed that my 4 year old female doberman had urine leaking out. It was a lot and lasted for the rest of the night. First thing this morning I took her to the vet and he said she did not have an infection or any stones. He said that sometimes female dogs that have been spayed early developed this problem because of hormones. Can you belive he suggested HRT? I am going through the same problem myself, LOL. The alternative??? Let her become an outside dog. He did give me some pills to try, and happy to say, they are working, no more leaking so far.

Hi,

I was wondering if you give your dog Greenies? I have known more than several people who have had this problem and the common denominator was the Greenies- I know it sounds strange.....

No, we don't use the greenies. She does get an occassional raw hide, but not often.

how long ago was she spayed? my friend has a bouvier that started leaking urine after a spay and the medication worked very well. Careful with the raw hide- being a dog breeder and trainer for many, many years I know of too many horror stories from raw hide. My first breed was dobermans- I love them.
